Anyone down to replay S1 & S2 and pretend like the story ends there?

Because I am.

If you like Kenny. Stay with Kenny and pretend the both of you go back to Wellington after a month or so, get accepted in, and live safe inside the walls for the rest of your lives, happily ever after with AJ.
If you like Jane. Stay with Jane and pretend you both rebuild Howes and live happily ever after with AJ.
If you despise Kenny and Jane, kill/leave them and pretend you find a nice community that DOESN'T have weak ass members in which they all die in 5 episodes, where all of them are likable and you live happily ever after with them.

Yeah I'm pretty down.

  • I think the series is doing just fine. But yeah at some parts the story would be fine with Clem finding Christa and Omid after what happens with Lee they find Wellington and Kenny and Clem would never meet Carver and they live happily ever after. When I first downloaded episode 1 season 1 it was my first telltale game and I was an idiot and thought the end of episode one was the end of the game I thought it was really short but at least the group would live happily ever after if it ended there.

  • Yeah at this point, I don't even consider TWD ANF canon. To me it's just a fanficition.

  • If anything, S2 shoulda been the end of Clem's story with the scenarios I listed above and she be completely removed from the series. Either that or ANF as a DLC.

  • I have replayed them so much times already. Anymore would just seem unhealthy lol. I think it would have been better if they had continued with Clementine at Wellington. Kenny eventually gets accepted in. If you choose Jane then Howe's Hardware falls and they eventually move to Wellington, choose neither and Clementine finds her own way there.

  • The topic was "anyone" and people have already agreed, so your statement is incorrect haha.

  • To me the series ended with "A House Divided".

After that, it feels like a forced relationship with someone who had a stroke.

Are you treating it as Half Life 2?

  • I dont have any desire to replay season two. I wasnt happy with Kenny taking over the game. Ive had my fill of season one too. I do want to continue the game I paid for. I was enjoying it. I am kind of wishing I never started coming to this forum though. Its just really taking the fun out of what, to me, is supposed to be a fun pastime.

Don't give up on the forum! I will admit that the Walking Dead section is incredibly toxic, but it'll get better. These things have happened but it always calms down after a while and it'd suck to see you go. :'(

  • Is it weird that I have, like, 3 states of canon for this series?

    1. The first stops right before Sarah falls through the observation deck, since by normal TWD standards I think it probably wouldn't have happened.
    2. Then, there's the one where the Lee flashback is what's actually going on while everything after that is a dream, meaning that pretty much everything after Lilly shoots Car-Doug hasn't happened.
    3. And there's the one where everything is canon and we're still waiting to see what happens next to Clementine.

Alternatively, Doug's appearance in Poker Night 2 means in this case that TWD is just a performance and everyone who was in it is alive, because they're acting.

  • Maybe it was just me, but I never really wanted a S3 of Walking Dead, I felt like S2 would have been a fine conclusion. Just be up to us to think about what happened later.

  • No...

Should I compare a game that's heavily depending on gameplay and its atmosphere with a choice based story "game"?

  • Awww! It's not like I contribute a whole lot around here, but thats sweet of you to say. I guess I just get tired of all the hate, not just here either. I play video games for the fun escape so I really cant understand why there is so much drama and anger.

  • Honstly, while I myself am not quite happy with the direction they have taken A New Frontier, I would be lying if I did not enjoy the first 2 episodes, there were alot of moments in there that were really great, and people are definitely blowing it out of proportions, especially since we have barely gotten started on the season yet, I am still optimistic that it will be good

  • I actually pretend it ends with season 1.

  • A poorly written fanfiction with terrible graphics and terrible character treatments.

Yeah at this point, I don't even consider TWD ANF canon. To me it's just a fanficition.

  • Thats the sticking point for me. People are acting like its the worst thing ever made. It's not and it's only been two episodes in one release. What happened to judging the game as a whole? We dont know whats coming next.

We wouldn't have complained as much if it was one episode (and we would've been optimistic since it only would've been one shit episode). All the pre-release lies didn't help either. We're almost halfway through the season by now - 40%. All we've gotten was 2 hours of bullshit. Hopefully this... backlash have caused Telltale to LISTEN (something they seem to not do lately).

  • ANF doesn't even feel like a continuation. I already replayed Season 1 and Season 2 and gave myself depression seeing how bad Seas-- ANF (it's not the official S3 in my eyes) was.

  • I get what you mean. The forums haven't been a lot of fun lately and I'd be lying if I said it wasn't bringing me down too. It'll get better though.

    Cliffhangers suck ass.

Even S1 had cliffhangers. Just use your imagination then...

Better than them dying in the middle of a herd or bad Russians cliche or nearly drained empty Howe hardware Store.

Ya'll just don't know the fact that ANF is just a testament right? They gave it a go and now they will start agian RIGHT!?!??

  • Neh man I kinda like this non canon story arc!

  • All you have gotten is 2 hours of bullshit. I personally dont think it is that bad, and Im waiting to see where the rest of the story goes before Im ready to draw and quarter the company. When you say you hope they listen, what do you expect exactly?

Well, I like enough of the other series to want to see whats going on with them. Im still waiting on season two of GOT and some hope of Wolf season two. And I do want to see how this series comes out. But, I did like the sense of community that was on this forum and how well moderated it is compared to many other forums, and thats whats kept me sticking around. Now it's just so much vitriol. I guess I will see how episode three is recieved. Meantime, I have FFXV to finish, lol.

... and then Beta Kenny is there...

  • Listen to the criticism. By now I'm sure you've heard them all (excluding the Kenny and Jane one because probably going to stay dead and there's nothing they can do to fix those shitty flashbacks).

Trust me, there is The Walking Dead fanfiction that's written better than A New Frontier.

Yeah at this point, I don't even consider TWD ANF canon. To me it's just a fanficition.

  • And then the sad part is it's the completely canon sequel to Season 2. Damn this sucks.

  • I don't have to pretend. The story has ended with season 1. Zombies ate Kenny. The end.

  • I got two hours of bullshit, too. Hoping it gets better, though.
