Would You guys like there to be TWD Governor Mini Series

Hey there so I was Re Reading The Governor Arc in the Comics again and I was wondering it would be cool if Telltale made their own version of The Governor and his Comic arc. Like they don't need to do everything the same just make it their own story I would like to walk around Woodbury and make Choices as him. Plus it would be cool if we saw characters from the comics like Alice Dr stevens Lily etc. Plus the last episode would be The Prison Attacks. What do you guys think I think it would be awesome and it doesn't have to be Comic Governor it could be their own Version of The Governor and make him like the same Evil he is in the comics. PS it would be cool seeing Alice get Killed like make Lily have the Choice to kill her or not and we can see Alice die Lol what do you guys think.

I mean, I don't know how popular my opinion is among others but I'd really prefer the game series to branch itself as far away as possible from the show and comic book.

The occasional cameo appearance of Glen, Hershel and Jesus was cool but the whole Michonne mini series could've been replaced with a backstory of Javier and his familia.

While I can see why someone would love your idea and I can certainly see how it could potentially be a good story...I just like to treat the game as being a completely separate thing, the show and the game don't even have the same vibe for me personally. I care a lot more about the original characters in the game and the antagonists are generally easier to hate with a passion...I can't even dislike Negan I just find him too hilarious.

I have to agree with ZombiePizza. Now while I did like the Michonne mini series, I really like what TellTale Games have done with their version of The Walking Dead with their own characters so far. But if it was a series about a new character working with an all new antagonist from the start, that could work.

  • I dunno, I've kind of had my fill of side stories, but one of the major reasons I skipped Michonne was because it'd be adding some back story, but that's it. At the end of the day we know where these characters end up, with original characters there's a lot more freedom in regards to where the story could go as opposed to the limited scope of established characters. I guess I just prefer an ongoing story as opposed to a glimpse of what's happened.

  • I'd play it. Frankly, I loved Michonne.

  • I don't follow the comics but I think it would be a really good idea with the TV version. I was a big fan of character in season 3, they made him a bit too much in season 4 (killing his own man in the middle of a golf game for no reason at all) but I guess that was because they were planning on writing him out for good.

  • Season 4 Gov was better by far than S3, writing wise. It explained why he killed him

They did? I just remember him killing the guy and going totally insane afterwards lol. Yeah he weren't all bad (as a character) in season 4 to be fair. I was still pretty happy with his send off but wanted him in the show for longer.

  • Dude already got a novel about his past

  • kinda hope Telltale moves on from Walking Dead in general to be honest

  • Eh, while I like their other games, TWD is just way more enjoyable for me, like it was made for this genre of games

  • I would love for them to make more spinoff games to tell different stories, and then keep the main series games focused mostly on Clems story

  • The Governor's background has been like really fleshed out with a bunch of novels and such.

I liked the Michonne Mini-Series, so yeah I'm down for another. Personally, I'm all about that Alpha and Beta series that I kind of want for some reason.

  • I'd rather they do new stuff or focus on other series, but you're allowed to have your opinion.

  • It would feel kinda awkward playing as a rapist and he's already fleshed out in the novels/comics.

  • Who would we be playing as Brian or The Governor? In any case it would be sort of redundant as there are a series of novels about his past

Basically he was happy to be just a guy at the camp, and not a leader because he knew what leadership changed him into last time. But Martinez during golf confessed his worry that he can't keep the camp safe, and asked if the Gov wanted to "share the crown" leading together. This made the Gov panic for a few reasons: Martinez feeling he can't keep them safe means the old monster Gov was screaming to come out and protect his new family, like a trigger. Martinez offered to share power, again tempting/triggering his old self, and thirdly the Gov had been feeling sort of jealous in that his new family said they "feel safe for the first time in weeks" at the camp, as if they hadn't felt safe with him personally until Martinez swept in. At least, that's what the actor said. It's why the Gov was shouting "I don't want it!" whilst killing his friend. His personalities were clashing. Yeah, he was pretty damn insane tbh, and I liked his finale in that season too :P
