*NEW* Christa Theory (Thoughts?)
Okay guys, so I wanna make this as short and sweet as I can but there are so many details that I just have to bring up.
My brother and I were just having a discussion that turned into an hour long theory. It all started because we were talking about Season 2 and how I was under the impression that the group was headed to Wellington, Virginia and that was how Clementine came across the New Frontier in Richmond. However, my brother had just played through Season 2 again and he said he thought that somewhere Kenny mentions Michigan. It's been a while since I've played through S2, so I went ahead and looked it up on Google and The Walking Dead Wiki states that they actually end up in Wellington, Ohio.
So I was wondering, why were we both thinking two different states? Well, there's a Wellington in all of those places. Also Missouri, Washington, California... basically there's a Wellington everywhere.
Then I'm thinking, if my brother and I got mixed up on which Wellington they were going to, couldn't Christa and Kenny also have been talking about two separate places? If Christa came across other survivors or signs or whatever that only mentioned "Wellington" as being a safe haven, who would automatically assume the one in Ohio, or Michigan, or anywhere else? There's a Wellington everywhere. Obviously Clem and Kenny ended up in Ohio (or so the Wiki says..) in one of the determinant endings of S2, but could it be possible that Kenny had more information than Christa did? Maybe he knew specifically where the safe place was, while Christa only had "Wellington" to go off of.
Which then made me wonder, why is Virginia the setting of The New Frontier? I tried Googling, but couldn't find any specific interviews or information about why Virginia was chosen. Then just for shits n' gigs, I looked up how far Wellington, Virginia was from Richmond (where TNF is stationed)... Guys, these places are only an hour or so away from each other. They are literally so close compared to how far the groups have traveled in the past.
So I'm thinking, if Christa was thinking Wellington, Virginia like I was... and she and Clem were traveling from Georgia at the beginning of S2, well that'd just be a quick jog up the east coast. AND.. if Christa WAS going to Wellington, she'd HAVE to cross through Richmond FIRST. Because Richmond is below Wellington, according to Google maps. Which means, Christa COULD already be at TNF and Clementine wouldn't even know it!
Possible reasons Clem wouldn't have come across Christa:
I don't remember if a specific amount of time was mentioned in ANF Episode 3, but I'm guessing Clem and AJ weren't with David and his people for very long. In Episode 2, it seemed like when Ava found them, AJ was already showing signs of sickness (coughing). When we see Clem sneaking into their medical camp, AJ is considerably more sick but I'm thinking this has probably happened in a span of a week or two, possibly a month at most.
If The New Frontier has completely taken over Richmond, well that's a pretty damn big place. It'd make sense for Clem to not know everyone who was living there, especially if she's only been concerned with taking care of AJ.
Okay, so. Now, in the beginning of S2 after Omid gets shot, to me it seems like Christa isn't Clem's biggest fan. When she looks down and sees that the girl who shot Omid used Clementine's gun after they specifically told her to watch her things, it just seems obvious that even though Clem is a little girl, Christa can't help but to put the blame on her. Even in the following months, after Christa presumably loses her baby, she just seems so defeated and not in the mood to take care of Clementine. She mentions that Clem needs to learn things herself in case something happens to her. Which spoilers it does. Christa not caring much for Clem plays a part.
So, in my theory. I'm thinking Christa is at the New Frontier and MAYBE she's running an orphanage or day care, or something along those lines. If there are children there, chances are some of them have lost parents or guardians, therefore someone's gotta be looking after them. If this were the case, it makes sense that David would bring baby AJ directly to her. He'd probably say something like, "here's baby AJ, he was with this girl Clementine, we kicked her out." And then he'd mention that she's a troublemaker or something. To which Christa could have one of two reactions. "What?!.... I need to find her." or.. and this is what I think, "Clementine...? She's going to get this baby killed if she gets him back. Sooo she can't have him back." Or something along those lines, more fleshed out of course. Which would make even more sense why David was being so secretive with info about where AJ is.
Christa lost her baby, now she has AJ, and she's not just gonna give him back to Clementine and let them go off with him. This would be so much more emotional and make way more sense than AJ just being with some random person and Clem & friends have to go on a rescue mission.
In the S2 ending where Clem and Kenny find Wellington, Clem can ask the woman if she's seen Christa. The woman specifically says no, as opposed to "maybe?" or "I don't know"... If Christa hadn't made it there in the same amount of time or shorter that Kenny and Clem had - either she's dead, or she's somewhere else. And I just simply will not accept that Christa is dead and TT haven't come out specifically saying it. If they just wanted to drop her storyline, I feel like they'd say so. Confirm she's dead. On The Walking Dead Wiki, her status is unknown. I don't know if that means anything, but I think it does. Plus, I feel like I remember TT saying earlier that Wellington would play a part in S3. Which makes me think TT are being tricky and they're gonna talk about Wellington, VA rather than bringing the other Wellington back into the mix. Unless they just meant Clem's gonna have another flashback.
But, if I know TT, they pay attention to details. I feel like there's a reason they set up shop in Virginia. If not, they could have easily set up TNF in Ohio and blamed Wellington's downfall on one of Joan's raids.
Idk guys, this seems like a golden opportunity to bring Christa back, and a great way to play up AJ's storyline. But that's just a theory..... a game... nvm. What do y'all think? Is it possible? Or am I reaching?

Unfortunately i think Christa is gone for good. Seeing how this installment is more catered to new fans and focused on creating new characters it is highly unlikely they'd bring her back especially this late in the game. And seeing how this is Javier's story it wouldn't make sense to bring back a character that would be more suited for a return if Clementine was the main character.
That makes a lot of sense. I just had this feeling that Christa could possibly be another "villain" type to deal with as far as AJ is concerned. Simply because Telltale have a sort of pattern that when they reveal the "enemy" in the 3rd episode of a series, they generally aren't the only person we have to deal with. i.e. Crane in TWAU, Carver in S2, etc. I don't think this war between Javi, David and Joan can really stretch for two more episodes.
It definitely makes sense why they wouldn't bring Christa back or explain what happened to her at all, but damn that'd be a shame. And it'd be so satisfying to at least know where she ended up.
