Was Mariana "Walker Mature"

I've just realized we've never seen Mariana kill a zombie or have an actual weapon on her, although in the Episode 1 select preview image she is holding a knife. Do you think maybe she wasn't "walker mature" meaning that she hadn't really been taught how to protect herself or anything or just there was never really a scene needed involving her contact with a walker.

  • THEY KILLED THE WRONG CHILD.Sorry I had to say it

  • I feel like Mariana was meant to be like S1 Clementine (she even has the same subtitle colour IIRC, lol)

  • Yes. I was under the impression that, while they didn't get the chance to show it due to being taken by surprise, Mariana and Gabe had some training for dealing with situations requiring combat, hence why Gabe always had a gun and an axe on him.

On a different not, I do find it funny how Gabe and Kate have a relatively big axe and a friggin katana, respectively, while Javier and Mariana have a some sort of pickaxe and a dagger. Not to mention how she's wielding that thing Ahsoka-style ready to cut someone--"sweet little girl" my ass!

  • Nah that's too thick to be a katana. I think it's a variant of a machete.

  • I am just sad that we never got to see any real action from Mariana, since she seemed pretty competent, or at least listened to directions, and would probably be easier to teach than Gabe

  • Isn't that a baseball bat?

  • Yeah, I mean clem season 1 and mari are about the same age right? (1-2 years difference?) Clems voice is so highpitched and maris is so low, idk..

  • The sad part is telltale made the same mistake in the first episode of season 1 with the very one sided Carley/Doug choice, they admitted characters needed more time and interaction before something like that should happen and here we are 2 seasons later and another character that had 10 whole minutes on screen just dies and we are all supposed to feel really bad about it...

  • It would be cool if they showed that in a flashback. We need some proof that this family is capable enough to survive 4 years in the apocalypse.

  • Seriously. At least the Doug/Carley death in episode 1 had some sort of impact because the player is directly responsible for leaving one to die. Mariana was just kind of there, had maybe 5 lines, and then I'm watching the ending like "Huh. That's a shame lol."
