HELP
My friend is playing twd season 1 and he thinks its the best game ever. Just watching him exploring hubs and talking to everybody, the length of that was more than 2 entire episodes of TNF. Now he is asking me if he should buy TNF. I Want recommendation since i haven't bought the game myself (only watched playthrough and its no difference imo). Ill link him this thread.

It's different for everyone. If you're unsure, maybe just show them a few minutes of that playthrough you were talking about and see how he/she feels about it.
If you have watched the playthroughs then whats the problem ? If you are judging it by it's epiodes length then you are wrong according to me the lenth is alright as The premiere was too big to be fitted in one episode so they released two episodes part 1 and 2 -part1 was about 1 hour 15 minutes and the second epiosde was 1 hour 5 minutes . And after playing the third epiosde I don't think that there was any issue relating to the lenght according to me it was 1 hour and 28 minutes .And I really enjoyed it the story line was good .The graphics we're awesome .But only thing that would hurt you is that you would only get to play with Clementine in her flashbacks. And the rest of the season you have to play it with the new character Javier . Just ignoring this drawback the rest of the season is good
Be a true friend to him, break his pc/console.
Or give him the experience in less than 30 seconds. Take his 30 dollars, burn it, and then slap him across the mouth.
Good one
Its not just about the length but the quality of the game itself. He cares about exploring little things and building relationships in the game (he wont like any forced relationships in the game). Dont think he cares about playing clem alot. Also important little things that matter when you chose (not sure if its relevant to TNF)
Eh, I mean, its not terrible, but it depends alot on what you like about the games, characterization seems alot less present in A New Frontier than season 1, and I feel like the world building is alot weaker.
I am probably a bad person to ask, since I am not very keen on A New Frontier, since I play these games mostly because I like Clementine, and A New Frontier isnt too focused on her.
Objectively its a decent story and decent game so far, but nowhere near as good as season 1/2
Yes.
Forget what everyone else says; this isn't a continuation of the first two seasons, this is more of a spin-off. The only reason everyone's jimmies are rustled is because they wanted more Clementine and more game time.
That's the only reason? And not because of what you previously mentioned about this not being a continuation and being more a spinoff? That they're still referring to as Season 3? I think that might have something to do with it.
Oh, true. Should've mentioned that lol
Yeah, everyone set their expectations WAAAAAAAY too high for this game
Honestly, as far as recommending the game to him I can't really tell someone to do something I haven't. I know a few people personally who enjoyed the first two seasons and either skipped this or stopped after the first episode, and I'm not really prepared to try and sell them on this until I see how the last two episodes play out. As it stands, it feels less like a sequel and more like a disconnected game taking place in the same universe. It's even more on rails that season 2 has been, with more time spent on QTEs and interactive cutscenes than either S1 or 2.
I can't speak to whether or not he'd like it, but it definitely doesn't have the same feel as the first two games.
