Is the show better than the game?
Since it takes forever for the episodes for the game to release, I tried watching the TV show. I found it much slower and to have unnecessary dialogue. I personally enjoy the game a lot more. Some of my friends who have seen the game and watch the show still think that the show is much better. Which one is better?

The game is much better.
The games first two seasons are better by FAR. But, ANF and the show are tied to me.
I understand we all have opinions, but what is it about the game that you find better than the show?
The story was more appealing with Lee and Clementine as protagonists, I didn't like Rick, and I hated the earlier storylines for the tv show, with Lori being a slut, and them focusing on finding a dead girl for half a season. Plus, I find Rick and Carl's father/child dynamic sort of cliche and poorly created, it felt too predictable to me. But Lee and Clementine's dynamic was different to me, I liked how they were brought together (random circumstance) and the way Lee changed because of it. I felt rick's changes were kind of, once again, predictable and felt he was just screaming CAARRLLL, Judith did add some interesting elements after, but it didn't change much for me. And then when Lee died, it suprised me and made me feel, especially when you see little Clem having to be a big girl. With Carl, he's always had his dad, and even when he's older and his hair touches the ground, I feel his development wont be like Clementines. And the game always has the interactivity advantage over the tv show. I did love Glenn though, (not that it matters anymore) I also don't appreciate the pacing, especially season 7, it was like trudging through mud for 16 episodes. There were a few good moments, I admit, which is why i still keep up with the show.
The show is like a 7/10 I watch it to keep up with the times and it is sometimes entertaining.
I understand why some would enjoy the show, respect to all opinions.
I'm not a huge fan of Rick either. He's not the worst character ever or anything but for me he lacks the personality and charisma to be the main character of the show, especially for this long. The show is nowhere near as good as season 1 for me. At it's very best it is probably around season 2 quality but it is generally worse than season 2 as well. I did think that the Governor was basically a better version of Carver though.
When it comes to keeping a group together and developed throughout several seasons, the show has the game beat. However, when it comes to writing the game beats the show (though NF is mostly on par with Season 6 and early Season 7 of the show... not great)
Season 1 is the only game material that is on par with or better than the show's highest highs. Season 2 and ANF aren't as good as the show.
The show's lowest lows can go to "No Going Back" levels of suck, though. Thankfully, those moments are few and far between.
The Games pretty much beat show in everything but character transition. Because everybody is much dead by the end of the season in the game.
Is the show better than the game?
I agree that the Governor was better than carver, I feel his mindset and backstory were more developed.
It's kinda sad that when most people think of The Walking Dead, they think of the mediocre tv show but they know nothing about the video game. Normies would usually tell me after I tell them about the game. "Is that the one with Daryl?" It's even worse that Survival Instinct is known more than the Telltale Series. But again I guess some masterpieces shouldn't be detected by the mainstream radar. After all we know what happened to the dab. Normies ruin everything.
I would rate the game Season 1 & to some extent Season 2 better than the tv show. 400 Days, the Michonne series - I would list as equal to or not as good as the tv show. I'm still undecided as to where to place ANF in that line up.
On another topic, I really feel that The Walking Dead as a whole is on the decline. Probably doing good scores (on all medias: TV, comics, VG) but people doesn't care as much as before (my inner circle at least). Plus the franchise really struggles to reinvent itself: Always the same tropes over and over again.
Except that Season 1 is one of the most overrated game of this century that every big YouTuber has played by now, giving it a lot of exposure to the "mainstream", along with the fact that it won a shit ton of GOTY Awards in 2012, effectively making it one of the most well-received video games of all time, with millions of copies sold worldwide and almost no negative reviews anywhere.
You know. Except that.
Season 1 is not some unknown underdog. If anything, the hype for this game is completely blown out of proportion. It's a good game, a great one even, better than the show at most times. But so many people treat it like the second coming of Jesus, it's not even funny anymore.
And you know what? Season 2 and A New Frontier deserve to be less famous than the show for the most part, because they are just as mediocre, in the case of A New Frontier Episode 1.1 and 1.2 actually worse than the show at its worst. Season 7 of the show was great at some points, retarded at others. 50/50, I'd say. But at the same time, two thirds of A New Frontier have been shit so far, and it's not like Above The Law was that great either.
And I seriously doubt that Survival Instinct is more succesful than Telltale's The Walking Dead. Most people hated that game and deify Telltale's Season 1.
Are you talking about real dabs or something else?
Well actually now the show and the game are at a tie at awfulness especially anf but seasons 1&2 definitely were better than the show
Yes, the real dabs.
