Why is the pricing different?

Season passes for TT as far as I remember always had it so you could get one ep free if you bought them all early for 19.99. I was puzzled seeing in the Xbox store that the season pass only includes episodes 2-5? The options are....

Episode by Episode.
Buy episode one for $5. Then season pass episodes 2-5 $19.99. No money saved?
Third option buy all 5 episodes for 25$

The reason im mentioning this now is because I notice for GUARDIANS the season pass is back to how it always was as you pay the 19.99 and get ALL 5 episodes.

I dont get it? Why is there no discount for ANF?

  • That's kinda weird, especially considering how they released two-fifths of the season on day one. I didn't even think you could just get episode one and then pay for the season pass for the other episodes, seeing's how they were bundled together.

The only thing I could think of is that TWD is pretty much their flagship series, so they figured that they could charge that extra $5 since they knew people would pay for it. Guardians is a new series, so maybe they want to wait and see if it's worth selling higher for the next season of it (if there is one).

I'm no business expert though, so don't take my word for it :/

  • The Walking Dead is on its third season and it is the most successful series TTG make, so it's no real surprise they would charge more for it considering people are more willing to buy it because they already played and enjoyed the first two seasons.

Batman was the same price but this is no real contradiction, Batman is an extremely popular series of movies, comics and has a large amount of video games based around it so again it's no surprise people were willing to buy it at full price.

GOTG however is not as universally recognised as a series. It's a relatively new series with only 1 movie and a comic compared to Batman which has many and TWD which has an extraordinarily popular TV show to boot. So therefore TTG believed they would not have as much success in terms of sales unless they reduced the price to some degree (and actually make the episodes 90 minutes long and apparently very good...which is a rare occurrence for TTG these days)

It is disappointing however to see that ANF was £10 more ($12.70) than GOTG and was even completed with much less effort and quality simply because they knew full well the fans would buy it just because they loved season 1 and 2.

  • I got all 5 episode for my anf. Maybe there is a glitch in your store?
