Well, almost any scene with a favorite character from a series can make it a plus for me, except the stupid instances of the terribly written deaths. Yes, the new flashbacks do somewhat come off as a cheap way for TellTale to get heat off of them from those first ones (maybe the season as a whole), but I can't help but like quiet, peaceful, environments with loved characters between all the drama and suspense.
I don't see how people saw this as heartwarming or a good send off for the characters. Kenny's exit in S1 and S2 were good send offs. This is just cheap fanservice that telltale made to somewhat makeup for the abysmal EP1&2 flashbacks.
Hey man, I completely agree with you. My original expectation was for there to be s2 flashbacks in every episode, leading up to the reveal of what happened in the finale. Your idea of including them in the s3 story is good as well, i couldn't handle it if Kenny was part of Joan's choice.
All I was saying is that given how things already went down in episode 1, I just count myself fortunate to have gotten another Kenny flashback and not have my final interaction with him being a horrible car crash and death by walkers. It was obviously for the fans because Gavin Hammon didn't plan on voicing Kenny ever again after the premiere.
We could have simply not gotten an extra flashback. We cant change what happened but we can be grateful for the gesture, yes?
Well they could have just left it the way it was and not given us a complimentary Kenny moment....? I know how things went down but you're n… moreot going to make me feel bitter about such an obvious fan service.
They could have yes but what they should have done and what i would have probably tolerated is that each flashback builds up to Kenny/Jane's deaths. Instead of killing them in the first episode, show a different flashback of them in each episode and then say in the last episode that is when they show how these characters died BUT not in the complete shit way they made their deaths. It wouldn't be just 5 minutes for a start.
Anyway if it was up to me writing the story i would have included Kenny/Jane in the S3 story. Telltale could have easily done that and fans would have appreciated that our ending S2 choices felt like they mattered. Imagine Kenny/Jane being held at gunpoint by Joan making Javier choose between say Kenny and Tr… [view original content]
Oh i do understand what you were getting at and in that sense i agree and i liked the flashback for Kenny but they shouldn't have had to do it to apease the fans. They wouldnt have done it otherwise but i do agree that assuming that was the last flashback with him involved, it was nice. But i still won't forgive Telltale for the way they handled his and even Jane's death.
Yeah totally man! Imagine that had Kenny/Jane been involved in Season 3 and as I mentioned, Javier had to choose who to save, those people who despised Kenny would naturally choose Tripp/Ava or whoever else would be at gunpoint by Joan and instead of them looking forward to seeing Kenny get shot, the person they chose died instead leaving Kenny still alive for those haters haha! Same with Jane. Imagine how pissed they would be lol!
I kinda wish the game had autosaved the moment the choice was made so people couldn't go back and change their choice after seeing what happened to who they wanted to save. That would have been better imo

I have a question, if they updated the models does that mean the models from Episode 1 might've been swapped for the updated ones? Sialark mentioned there was an update for the game so I was curious.
I gotta say, I really appreciate the correlation between the dialogue and what is shown in this scene. Very heartwarming, but sad because of what we know...

I'd take an entire fucking season of just this. My life would be complete.
Edit: does anyone else think they made her look more like Kate… more this time around? I mean, I appreciate that Jane doesn't look like she wrapped her face in like five layers of plastic wrap anymore, but I can sort of see the resemblance a little bit.

I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but Kenny looks like he's about to be hanged.

Hmm? What do you mean? Does he look like he's suffocating or something?
The angle of his head and the random rope stretching up behind him.
Ohhh ok, that makes sense. Great, now I can't unsee that anymore

whole game shoulda been like this
Nope, doesn't change
almost all named females in the game share the same head mesh so its no wonder she resembles kate
