What was clementine talking about?
In Episode 1 clementine tells Javier she didn't want to join TNF but she did since they were "very persuasive" in getting her to join. In the EP3 flashback we see David angrily stating they should've left clementine and AJ in the woods weeks ago. It doesn't seem like they were very persuasive so much as likely to get rid of her due to problems she caused for the group. Does anyone know exactly why clementine made it seem like she forced/persuaded when David appears to have wanted to leave her weeks ago in the woods.

I am also curious as to how/why Clem was persuaded even though I flat out denied Ava's offer and chose every rude dialogue option.
Just teenage lies to get Javi's sympathy.
She might not have wanted to admit that she needed them because of AJ. So she bent the truth a little. Persuasive as in they had the means to provide for AJ and her.
The way Clementine looks at AJ at the end of that flashback (in the woods) kind of shows that she doesn't want to leave AJ - and possibly herself hungry, even after refusing Ava's offer to stay at The New Frontier. She had some time with Ava presumably to wait the walkers off before she left, she probably changed her mind then, noticing a chance to get a quick meal or something.
This. Either that or David/Ava sung one helluva song to get her on their team.

Pretty much, considering she's been traveling in the woods with AJ for quite some time and the alone flashback drives drive that point home.
Now I am imagining David opera singing to Clementine...
I wonder what his singing voice would sound like... Now I'm curious...

She was also known at Prescott for coming and leaving when she felt like it. I forget whom, but someone asked if she was sticking around this time when she arrived with Javier.
