Camera work

Okay, so I usually play with game when I'm drunk (don't judge, It's way funner that way) but something about the camera work is different? Something about it reminds me of reality TV shows sometimes. Is it just me that's noticed it, or am I going crazy?

  • Didn't you just say you played it while drunk? Maybe that's why.

  • I noticed it when I was sober. Not the whole game, just certain parts.

  • I've noticed they do zoom in a lot so maybe that's it

That's what it is! The camera looks a look shaky when they do it as well, makes me feel like i'm watching an episode of the office or parks and rec lol

  • You're completely right. I noticed it in the very first flashback where javi and David have to kill their father when he turns into a walker. They walk into his bedroom, and for some reason the camera is facing them from the adjacent corner of the room, and it's just shaking like crazy like they're trying to make it seem like you're the cameraman or something. It was a little strange, and I've noticed it ever since. It doesn't bother me that much, but yeah you're definitely right about the camera being different.

  • Yeah, I find the shaky handheld camera movements the most annoying shit in the world.

  • I actually like them lol.

There was a moment in Ep4 (The part when Javi tries to figure out what to do with Joan in the group), and they just do a extreme close-up of Ava ,which pretty much just cuts out half of her face. Maybe one of her eyes are possibly visible, and her shoulders just take the centre-point in a background with nothing of interest in the flow of the framing. It just stood out like a sore thumb and took me out of the scene. It was almost like a bad shot from the movie The Happening.

EDIT: This only happens when Conrad is speaking about leaving, if you killed him in Ep2/3 the frame/shot will not happen..

  • Just a technique of an action-movie wannabe

  • I saw that on Youtube and cringed a little

  • That should stick to movies not video games. other than that camera work is fine

  • I thought I was going crazy haha. I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed it. I realized it during that episode as well, I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me until it happened in other episodes.
