That's how I like to play most Telltale games; from the character's perspective, except when it comes to Clementine because I'm trying my best to protect her like a parent.
For example, in my opinion, it more suits Javi's character if he went along with Conrad's plan when he held Gabe at gunpoint. Of course, I shot him because he threatened my Clementine but from his view he would've accepted it to keep Gabe safe and help Kate get recovered.
I couldn't agree with you more. The consequences that players suffer here, if any, are not nearly as daunting of a reality, as if this were a real life situation.
I don't think your decision was wrong. If your Javi's not up for some wife stealing, that's cool.
I am gonna have to defend Kate a little bit here though. It really seems like Kate is scared of her husband, so I can see why she'd rather just run off then have to sit him down and tell him she's hooking up with his brother (especially with David's brother complex).

Telltale writers dont know how to create or write a good romance story.
