Well since I informed Lee, I think I can safely say his opinion would be, "As long as he is good to her and makes her smile, I'm perfectly ok with it."
*Why do people hate Gabe so much?! He's just a teenager. * One of many issues people have had with Gabe's character is that he's a stereotype of a teenager rather than written with the effects that a child growing up in the apocalypse, not having his father, and having to deal with an uncle his father didn't care for and a step-mother. This, along with his Cuban family background, should make him a very complex and unique character. Four years into the end of the world, and he could easily be a character in any teen drama movie. I think a lot of teenagers and adults are a bit tired of teens being portrayed as simply as he is.
*He grew up in the apocalypse just like Clementine and don't say he's stupid or that he gets Javi and the others in trouble etc. * I think it would have benefitted his character if we had been present for that story rather than this one. It doesn't seem like he grew up in the apocalypse just like Clementine. The transition in the van didn't show any development for any of the characters. None of them display any emotions that would indicate that they're in danger in the junkyard. The children are on their own before the area's been cleared.
He grew up with people that could protect him. Clem was alone for a long time and she had to learn how to be just like she is now. Clementine grew up with people who both protected her and put her in harm's way. Gabe is shown to have much the same rearing as he's allowed to wander alone in an uncleared zone. In S1 - Lee looked out for her. In S2 - Omid and Christa looked after her until she met up with the Cabin group and ultimately Kenny/Jane. She then was protected by Kenny/Jane/Wellington up until she was on her own. ( Unless the alone ending was selected. )
I'm hopeful that E5 might give him some much needed growth, or some really strong moments to better flesh him out. I just don't see that happening with the run time that's left in the season. As for what Lee would think of it all, it's hard to say. After what happened with his wife, and Carley's fate... romantic love isn't something I think Lee could get behind with any real encouragement. I think he'd be cautionary from his own experiences.

I'm not sure Lee would be fully supportive regardless of whether or not it were Gabe. He was heading to jail because he became a murderer after his wife had an affair. He ( determinately ) had feelings Carley, and watched her die. With what happened between him and his wife alone, this would lead more to a warning against relationships or at the very least approach it with extreme caution. People who have been burned that bad and have gone to such extremes because of them would be skeptical. I imagine his first reaction would be the adult standard - you're only thirteen speech, then we'd get to the core of his feelings.
For sure Lee would like to make Clementine forget the absolute hell around them when possible but a good father would also try to keep his childrens away from the wrong people, who can even eventually have a negative influence on them. Don't you think there might be other methods to do so than getting romantically involved?
Personally, I am not against Clementine to have a more serious relationship with someone later on either. The whole point is that Gabe is just the wrong person as, for now, he hasn't proven himself worth it but contrarily.
Yes, Gabe is extremely reckless and hormonal, not disagreeing with you on that, but given that it's the apocalypse, I like to think that Lee… more (or any father or parent) would still want Clem (or their child) to experience something normal outside of having to deal with so much death, you know? I'm not saying that I support or oppose the pairing. Honestly, I'm more so indifferent to it ... meaning I don't care if they get paired up or not in the games ... but altogether, I like that this is a new aspect of life that Clem is able to experience.
I totally agree! Good parents would want to keep their children away from negative influences, but at the same time, I'm finding it hard to see Gabe as a negative influence on Clem. (This could just be my personality though, since I tend to look at everything through rose-colored glasses. ;D) Gabe definitely has his faults, there's no doubt about that (i.e. he's overly emotional and reckless) ... but then if you really think about it, none of the characters in this current season (even prior seasons) are completely perfect either ... I guess what I'm trying to say is that I don't see Gabe as toxic of a character as a majority of people seem to do, and I think it's because outside of his random out-bursts, that's all we're really seeing and getting with him ??

I hate to say it, but Gabe'll be lucky if he even gets that far.
Liar.

Nuh-uh
Nah, you're making the same Clem-face when Lee asked
"Did you lick it?"
and Clem answered "... I don't know."

I am melting.
Understandable, she is the most precious thing in the world.
She is, isn't she.
We almost lost her here:

This is my face when I hear "gabentine".
Without the beard tho.
Mah cheeks are clean like AJ's.
True that.
Lee would fill that cup up with some burbon if he could.
Let's go to kill gabe

Seems more like a Jane thing than anything Lee related, really.
Well, my Lee would be supportive, but remind Clementine that she needs to keep a level head and to not let a crush cloud her judgement.
