Honestly, I think it would've been better if Gabe simply avoided being grabbed and had his gun trained on him as well, telling Javier not to take the deal with the likelihood of potentially killing Conrad himself if you don't say/do anything. That would've made the scene less extreme on one side, gel better with the implications about Gabe's morality regarding life, and tie into his character development in general.
This choice in general is the stupidest choice in ANF by faaaar.
As the comment above me has specified: "(Also, no one who threatens Clem… moreentine gets to live.)", putting a new character up against Clementine, regardless of who's in the right or wrong is stupid.
I mean, it's Clementine. There are thousands of people who would do anything for her (at least in the game), as Javier, even if it means letting your family (in-game) die. I'm not condemning this, I'm just providing perspective.
So, even though I was one of the few people who did not kill Conrad, I'd have to say that you're not in the wrong for killing him. The choice was set up so you would pick Clementine.
EDIT: Putting Clementine aside for a moment, the situation is just screwed up in general. Conrad should not have pointed the gun at Gabe and Clementine shouldn't have been as cryptic when talking about NF.
That too, but I just don't understand why Clementine didn't say that NF has cast her out and that they said they don't want to see her again or something. She could have just exaggerated, instead of being unnecessary badass: "If you wanna shoot me, shoot me!"

I can feel regret some decisions sometimes if Im invested in the game and I genuially feel I was wrong. I cant ever feel wrong about that conrad decision, betraying clementine and siding with a maniac threatening me at gunpoint is not a decision I can support. I dont care that conrad does a 180 personality change after the fact.
To be honest I rarely regret choices in games, I tend to do what I think was right
Admittedly, they were digging a hole by saying that because I don't think it's technically impossible to do. In fact, making it so that she has 7 different basic personalities with 6 degrees of variation would've technically be feasible and an acceptable half-truth.

you known what im not gonna continue insisting for you to save Conrad because i known 90% of the forum killed him so ill just say this.
Make a 2nd playthought for it where Conrad s alive.
After hearing how prominent Conrad became, I really regret killing him. In my next playthrough I'm gonna try and spare him throughout all the episodes. It's pretty crazy that we have someone that's determinant this many times now but can still survive. Especially with how much it ends up biting you in the ass in episode 4. Tripp is pretty pissed with me now.

Like we've been saying, she was pretty much Jane 2.0.
So...?
The fact he apparently gets over it doesnt make me want to side with him in episode 2.
I almost get the feeling he meant Gabe.
I didn't even mention him so why would I?
Why do you NOT want to regret some of your decisions?
I tried playing another playthrough where I kept Conrad alive, but I can't get through episode one because the game has no replay value and is boring.

He mentioned both in the comment beforehand but Gabe did more in the episode, so I couldn't tell who you meant. My bad!
Basically...
So much for 42 different personalities...

But even that did not happen...
I would have been happy with 3...
rip lol
Conrad's like the best character next to Tripp and Javi. So, yes, you shouldn't have
The choice sucks and episode 2 sucks but if you killed Conrad you dun goofed
