Why A New Frontier is NOT Season 3 of The Walking Dead Telltale Series'

I think that a new frontier is not season 3 of the walking dead because this "season" has felt more of a DLC than a full season.

**1. Why have they minimized the amount of Clementine and AJ storyline this season? **
They made Clementine the biggest thing in TWD series and make her the main character back in Season 2 to just make her a side character in season 3? That does not make sense.

**2. Why are they releasing episodes so quickly? **
I think they're releasing these episode so fast because they want to finish this as quickly as possible to not only start working on other games, but to start working on Season 3. Like I said before, I think they did not make Clementine the lead and minimized her story because they want to introduce Javier and his backstory so in Season 3 (Or 4 whatever they call it) Clementine or AJ can be the lead and make Javier a side character and make him someone that won't actually die.

I believe this could be the case just because of how they have treated Clementine's storyline throughout this season, I think next season (3) will be all about Clementine again and Javier can be the supporting character everyone loves. (:

I hope this is the case because I really want to play as Clementine again. <3

  • I hope so too but...

I just hope Clem is the focus again in the actual S3 because this did not feel like S3 at all.

A New Frontier IS the third season. People can dislike it thats fine, but they need to accept it and stop making poor excuses as to why its not a third season over and over and over again.

  • Unfortunately it is Season 3, but they called it New Frontier to attract newcomers and first time players.

I feel like this is just a test From Telltale to see if fans enjoyed something new this season. Considering the backlash it's getting, I wouldn't be surprised if Telltale went back to its roots with Season 4.

  • Well even jobs made it a point to correct people calling it S3 near the premier of ANF. I think telltale originally had a legitimate S3 concept before it was scrapped for ANF.

  • Honestly this is not a "season" continuation of anything so much as it is an unofficial reboot to appeal to newcomers. If you take out clementine what exactly is this season building on?.

  • Take out Clementine, the story doesn't really change that much. I'm 65% sure she's there for fan service.

  • It is Season 3. Doesn't matter if you like it or if it doesn't "feel" like a continuation, it's been confirmed as the third season.

  • Meh, the Gabe stuff would fall flat completely if Clem wasn't there.

  • She's 100% fanservice more like it. She contributes nothing to the plot and randomly reappears because of writing convenience. Her 2 highlights of the season is a hug and talking about her period with a man she's known 2-3 days.

  • It was confirmed, however I feel telltale themselves really didn't want or see this as S3 in its final design.

Your right it doesn't make sense. I always knew it didn't. But I understand that about 80% of life doesn't make sense. I would love for someone to explain but how is NF a continuation of the games series.? By definition this is mostly a long spin off with a few Clementine cameos to bait all who's been playing since the first game. It's like if the TV show did season 8 but then started to focus heavily on Travis from fear the walking dead with Rick making a 3 minute appearance every now and then leaving then returning with flashbacks of Lori and Carl or something..

  • It's become the butt of a joke at this point.

  • Well the thing is that Clementine shouldn't even be a part of this season. The game says very clearly that this story is about Javier's family and their troubles (Mari's death, Kate romance, Davids leadership turned into betrayal, etc). Clementine doesn't fit and she it's quite clear she's just there to attract older fans back to the game; impress the newcomers with her badass/kickass/smug personality.

  • When you put it like that it makes the scene even more hilarious hahaha

  • It's trash.

  • This is definitely Season 3, if the writers consider it such then it is such.

This is becoming an annoying meme. It IS S3 and we should be surrendering to it already. They didn't intentionally limit the presence of her story in the interest of this DLC hooey you speak of, they just try too hard to squeeze and force her into a tight slot for the game and didn't care enough to not use her as an eyecatcher to feed in that bonus herd of customers. It seems like they just don't want old fans in the crowd anymore
