The Political System of Richmond and its Residents

I hated the fact that the New Frontier political system boiled down to a lazy one - a group with just 4 leaders. Something simple as "Oh, 4 people control the entire community" seems so lazy in writing to me. A more in-depth, realistically thought-out system would include occasional street gangs - lower ranks and training sessions - or even ONE soldier that has A MIND OF THEIR OWN for once.

Seriously, all the people in Richmond must be completely retarded to let four people command everything in their group in a small tiny room with chocolate cakes.

Most notably, I want to give an award to the bearded guard who stabbed Javi. Appears right out of the corner, absolutely stiff motion, no expression, and no surprise or dialogue at all to build up character for the guy.

  • Another example: The soldiers at the end of Episode 3 seemed to immediately side with Joan after revealing her actions - and they pointed their guns back at Javi without saying a single word, as if every single soldier was now convinced that easily.

If each and every soldier had a very interesting personality and do things unexpected, I think I would fall in love with the world of Richmond. And also I do realize that soldiers standing-out may detract from the main, straightforward (linear) narrative, but instea dit enriches the plot and depth of what could really be conspiring occuring within Richmond, letting players know that there are many more interesting things hidden within the world they already are so familiar with.

  • This is telltale, what did you expect? Espically when they hire freelance writers instead of people that are passionate about their project.

  • Seems very realistic to me. I mean, why the hell would you have 2 people In charge of one thing? And how can just one leader be in charge of food, security, contacts AND medicine all at once? They needed the four of them so that they could make the decisions together to make sure what was best for Richmond. It's better than having one leader, like most other communities, such as the saviours and Alexandria. And the soldiers only sided with Joan because they knew it was their best shot of surviving in Richmond, and David didn't know what he was going to do to make things better.
