Walking Dead Game: Locations and Times
I've been doing a lot of research on locations in the Walking Dead games (only season 1 and 2 so far) for my fanficiton and there are some things that don't add up as far as locations and times go (and there are some things that do add up).
I'd like to point this out first; I'm very amazed with the location and travel accuracy that TellTale made for the first season. Of course, I'm a Canadian so I don't know much about the States (so sorry if some of you Americans already knew about these things) but things like Savannah; the Church that was across from the house the group was located at was most likely the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. It is not too far from River St, and of course, Crawford Square is LITERALLY not too far from River St. as well! Also, the school that was around Crawford was most likely the East Broad Street Elementary School! I commend you, TellTale, for being so incredibly accurate with your locations! It must have taken a lot of time!
Anyways, one thing that doesn't add up for me; in Season 2, we all know that Clementine, Christa and Omid were somewhere in North Carolina and after a while, they had heard about Wellington. Judging by where Luke's groups' Cabin was (which was only a couple/few weeks from the Lodge, which is located around Blue Ridge Mountains, which is located somewhere near Western-North Carolina, close to where Carver's community is in Tennessee), and with the help of Google Maps; Walking all the way to where Christa, Omid and Clementine were, it should've been a walk that lasted only a few days. Of course, we can't rule out that they were wandering about for a while before hearing about Wellington, but we'll get to Wellington in a second. If they had been going North, their walk shouldn't have taken months (Christa's pregnancy). Before the 16 month jump, we don't know if they were in NC (but it's a possibility), but after the 16 month jump, we know they're trying to get to Wellington, which is further up north. All the way from Crawford, if they headed there to begin with (I'm not saying the were but I'm meaning that as a scenario) it would've been only a 10-11 day walk, MINIMUM to get there. But, because they were already around North Carolina (or in), it should've taken less time to get there.
Anyways, I just thought I'd point that out. Not only is it fun facts, but it'll also hopefully clarify some things for me.
Comments
The third season is very good in terms of detail and geographical locations. Especially In Richmond. We found the water tower
and historic railroad station in Richmond
which is on the ep3-poster
and many many others (eng). Artists from Telltale did a good job!
That they did!
Ah, I think I see what you mean. At the beginning of the game when Clem, Christa and Omid are at the rest-stop, they are in Georgia at the time. It is Gil's Pit Stop from the 400 Days DLC. That takes place roughly four months after Lee dies. Russell and Nate had already been there, but Roman and Shel had not yet started a group there. Then the game skips 16 months and Clem and Christa are in North Carolina at the campsite. When the scavengers attack and Clem falls into the river, the current takes her up steam to Virginia. The Moonstar Lodge is in Virginia as well. When they get captured by Carver, he takes them to Howes which is in Tennessee. Parkers Run is also in Tennessee. The frozen lake and the unfinished house in Episode 5 are located in Virginia. The rest stop is as well.
Clem can end up in a few different locations depending on your endings.
Clem and Jane head back to Tennessee and Howes.
If Clem is alone, she ends up in a field with no snow. It's hard to tell exactly where she is. It can either be North Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee or somewhere else near there.
If Clem and Kenny head to Wellington, they are in Ohio.
Regardless of your ending, Clem makes it back to Virginia in ANF.
Uhhhh.... Christa wasn't that far along when we met her in season 1. She was getting morning sickness, which normally doesn't happen until sometime around/after the six week mark and it ends after the first trimester is over (which is about twelve weeks along) It was more likely 6-7 months after Lee died.
