Ava/Tripp in episode 5 [Episode 5 spoilers]

Original Title: Ava's/Tripp's determinant ending

I was expecting way better from Telltale after we tried to save either of them, the move they pulled to shoot the one we tried to save, the one who was spared ends up forgiving you (which part of me didn't mind because we can see how forgiving Tripp is, but I expected more tension coming from that), then later ends up killed on top of the roof (Ava gets pushed off by a random walker, Tripp was pushed to a dead end after the chopper fell off).

It's a very dumb death design, even worse than Jane's, Kenny's, Nick's, Bonnie's death.

Am I the only one who thinks this is horrible writing?

    Of course you aren't.

I needed to make a small edit to your title to avoid spoilers for people but i have included your original title in your OP.

  • Oh thank you, sorry I tried to make it subtle but maybe it wasn't subtle enough :P

  • No one's mentioned Eleanor yet, doesn't she appear in the episode at all?

  • She appeared when you escaped to the building

At least they both could have made it in finale. So bad writing right there.

  • Ah, okay. Seems like everyone took a back seat to the Garcia's this episode, from what I hear.

Ava portrayed Jack & Rose with a walker and Tripp became Abraham Junior.

Their roles in Episode 5 in a nutshell.

  • I'm just glad they made Tripp's death emotional, with him sacrificing himself. Ava's was so fast you could've barely reacted.

  • Lol no nothing is worse than Nick and Jane's deaths.

  • Indeed. It was actually kind of hilarious.

  • I actually laughed at the suddenness of Ava's death, and the fact they all got over it so quickly. It was just bad.

  • It did give us a good line, though.
"ava would kick my ass if she knew I was sitting here crying"

If Ava already died in ep 4, I don't think David even mentions her in ep 5.

  • They were killed off so no one could stop David from deserting. It does suck though.

  • Something I found in IG

    Tripp falls off the roof
Javi: I guess you could say... HE TRIPPED

    lol

  • I think the worst part about Ava's death was that Clementine didn't even say a word (I played her to be super cool with Ava the entire time and "friends"). Her face didn't even have an expression on it lol...It was like they took literally 45 seconds to write that scene...What David and Javi said was barely even anything...It was like "Damn...She was a gud soldier." And that was it. I really felt that their buildup and use of that character in previous episodes would amount to more...Seems like more scrapped writing and messy fixes that we saw throughout the entire series. It was actually laughable. Waste of a character that could have been interesting in my opinion.

  • Hell, we didn't even see Clementine and Ava talk to each other in present.

  • Telltale should stop fucking doing the same thing over and over again. It gets old and predictable.

The only thing we got was a "What the fuck are you doing here?" Line from Ava after Lingard's office if you chose to be a bitch to her in the flashbacks.
