EPISODE 5 SPOILERS - The Fates of Those Guys We Don't Talk About

I still don't know what makes Clem choose who she goes with, but I think I do know what determines the fates of Kate, Gabe, and David.

So:

  • Javier and Clementine both go with Kate - Kate (Alive)/Gabe and David (Dead)

  • Javier goes with Kate; Clementine goes after Gabe - Kate and Gabe (Alive)/David (Dead)

  • Javier goes after Gabe; Clementine goes with Kate - Kate (Unknown)/Gabe (Alive)/David (Dead)

  • Javier and Clementine both go after Gabe - Kate (Dead)/Gabe (Alive)/David (Alive, but later goes missing?)

I'm not completely sure I have all of these right. Once a guide comes out, I hope it'll be easier to understand. :)

    I believe you have to disagree/not side with Clem throughout the season so she doesn't trust you and both can go separate ways during that choice.

    In my playthrough Clem said she'd help Gabe/Kate depending on who I chose because whichever one you help she trusts you to handle it yourself. I got this result because I was always helpful and trustful towards Clem so she trusted Javier to get shit done without her. So I helped Kate and she helped Gabe and in my book I got the happy ending.

    The only time I did something Clem didn't agree with was when I let David in, and I still got that ending.

    Clementine straight-out told me "Go help Kate, she can't do it alone, I'll go after Gabe". I have no idea what caused it.
