Who Clem decides to go with in Episode 5

  • My Clementine suggested to split up. I think it's because I used Conrad's plan to trade. It's kinda sad, actually. I was hoping to see them ride that motorcycle togethere like on the promo picture :(

  • My Clementine is apparently fierce but forgiving, despite showing signs of the exact opposite (throughout the season). From my understanding, she "took control of the situation by putting a gun to David's head, stopping the violence before it escalated", because of the last choice of the previous season. Since she was in a position to stop the violence before it escalated, unlike with the Kenny and Jane skirmish, she did so in such a way that prevented further injury than what had already occurred. In the end, she decided to go after Gabe and David, to which I followed suit in that.

Going by the Clementine images, the last bullet point seems to indicate:

    • A more hardened and survivor-oriented Clem is more likely to go with Javier due to it being safer to be in a group or after Kate due to having a safe home being more important.

    • A softer Clem with interest in still looking after other people is more likely to split up or be focused on going after Gabe to try and save as many people as possible.

    My Clem;
Was with Jane and the Family in Howe's
Javier only backed her up in one of the four "main" choices, being to back her up in Richmond

Is there any way for us to actually find out what triggers what she does other than trial and error? I want to get the Kate and Gabe alive ending but I actually don't know what choices to make to make Clementine not follow me.
Follow up question, if you're in a relationship with Kate, Clementine goes with her, and you go to get Gabe does Kate still disappear?

It would seem that your Season 2 ending locks you into a set number of Your Clem profiles. From there, your decisions during the Clem flashbacks have the final say. Judging from the flavour text, the three key decision points that determine your Clem are:

    • Accepting or Rejecting Ava's Offer
    • Injecting AJ or Obeying the Rules
    • Saying Goodbye to AJ or Spitting on David

If you accept Ava's offer and inject AJ, your Clem will be loyal and she will follow Javi's lead.
If you accept Ava's offer and obey them with AJ, your Clem will be understanding and will go after Gabe.
If you reject Ava's offer and inject AJ, your Clem will be levelheaded and will go wherever Javi doesn't.
If you reject Ava's offer and obey them with AJ, your Clem will be forgiving and will, again, go after Gabe.
If you reject Ava's offer, inject AJ and spit in David's face, your Clem will be cold and will go with Kate.
If you reject Ava's offer, obey with AJ and spit in David's face, your Clem will be honest and will, again, go wherever Javi doesn't.
If you accept Ava's offer, inject AJ and spit in David's face, your Clem will be bold and will, again, follow Javi's lead.
No word yet on what happens if you accept Ava's offer, obey with AJ and spit in David's face.

  • Doesn't work with mine (I did the same as you unless you spat in David's face). I rejected Ava's offer, injected AJ and said goodbye to AJ, and Clem decided to go after Gabe no matter what I did. More choices may be incorporated therefore, possibly season 2 endings, as mentioned in your post?
