Lets look back at TWD:NF and look forward to the Future of TWD

To start, I'm just gonna have a discussion on my thoughts on TWD NF. Note these are MY OPINIONS. If you have different opinions that is fine, leave a reply below and what not. Well, let's get to it.

To me, The Walking Dead: A New Frontier was a huge letdown. Albeit there were some good things about it. To begin, I feel as though the characters are sometimes just all over the place. Let's look at episode 5. One second Gabe says he hates his dad, but the other second he goes with him to get out of Richmond. Also, I didn't like most of the characters. Javier was bland, Gabe was annoying, David was an a-hole, and Kate. I fell as though romancing Kate is just weird, therefore I didn't do it. I know a lot of people like this, and hey more power to ya but I just don't think its right. Romance with your brother's sister? For all you people with brothers, if he died (God forbid), would you ever date his wife? Clementine was alright. I did enjoy Trip, Conrad, and Eleanor, but they're nowhere near as memorable as Kenny, Lee, Luke, etc. For Telltale style games, getting characters right are crucial for the story. The writing was shoddy and lazy. I guess you can kinda describe ANF in one word, Lazy. Also, this is sort of nitpicking, but did anyone else like hate the graphics? The environments looked better and there were no zombies as a background jpeg but at the expense of characters looking undetailed. Examples being Kenny and Jane. I wish they stayed with S1 and S2 comic style

What I did like now. Ep4 and Ep5 really picked up the ball and tried to run with it, though it was too late to salvage the season. Especially the second half of Ep4. Choices may have mattered in this season than any other yet. I see improvement there, especially in the determinants. Conrad can die in Season 2 or he can survive the season. Being determinent in the other seasons was a death sentence, but this gives hope.

Now to the future. Am I looking forward to S4? Yes but I'm going to be cautious. S4 is going to be crucial for TWD future success and Telltale. They have to get their flagship game right. At the end, ANF seems kinda just a bridge to bridge the gap for Clementine's story. Maybe next season Telltale will pull a Assassins Creed and call it Season 3, even though it's not the third entry in the franchise. I don't know when we can expect to see it, but it took almost exactly 3 years to go from s2 to ANF, so expect the same or maybe longer who really knows at this point. Let us hope, next season will be a return to form.
