I liked New Frontier?

Was I the only one? Of course its not my favorite, least favorite Walking Dead game, but I don't get all the hate that it's getting.
I didn't buy the game because "HEY CLEMENTINE!" and I think a lot of people did.
I liked how a lot of the stuff was determinant which I've seen some people not like, which is understandable. Especially EP 5, a lot was determinant there.

Of course, I love Clementine. I got the "Clementine decided to go after Gabe/David" and I followed her.
Clementine even said while I was thinking "You have to choose who you like more" or something like that.
Episode 5 was in my opinion the best, I thought they could do a lot better with the other episodes but I didn't think they were horrible.

Of course it's far from my favorite Telltale game, that goes to Tales From The Borderlands.

  • It improved as the season went on it never blew me away but the ending was alright. At the end of the day it was an ok/10

  • Episode by episode I could see the improvement, and they did their best at the end of the series. I liked ANF, and I hope, Telltale will improve their writing when they will be making season 4.

  • I mean, in the end it wasnt terrible, but I gotta say, I only really started to enjoy it in episode 5, I feel like if there had been 2 hour episodes, I would have enjoyed it more, since I didnt actually care about the characters before episode 5 because it was so short

Although I wouldnt want them to repeat it, and hope the post credit scene and "Clementines story continues" means that we get season 4 as Clementine, since I feel a DLC wouldnt do her justice

  • Basically everything they did wrong with S2, they did the same or worse in S3.

Short episodes, limited dialogue choices, no hubs. Most of all, action over substance, in both the sense that the action occurs without much interaction from the player and the fact the action happens for very flimsy reasoning other than the plot demands it.

Ep.1-3 were building up nicely in terms of the plot, but took a downturn with the final scene of Ep.4. The finale just felt like a confused mess of dialogue that they were just trying to tie off.

Honestly, every individual scene in S1 seemed so significant, that when something was recalled later on, I knew what they were talking about because the dialogue and the scene meant something to me. Now some woman mentions Rufus died and I can only think; "who the hell is Rufus?" Only after a few minutes of head scratching could I remember he was the guy driving Javier away from the junkyard.
