Ok how did Javier and Kate miss Alexandria
What direction did Javier and Kate go in in order to completely bypass Alexandria? Baltimore is just straight north of Alexandria and Washington D.C. about an hours drive. So it is interesting how they could have been wondering around the Maryland and Virginia area all this time and not heard about all the communities that were in the D.C area. And according to the comic those communities were there almost from the beginning of the outbreak.
That is why I am a little surprised they chose to start them out in Baltimore so close to D.C. I think it would have made a little more sense for them to have this new group originate either a little ways south or west of the Virginia area.

The only thing I can think of is that they didn't want the game directly clashing with the main protagonists of the comic book. Yet, hehe. You never know.
They could get away with Glenn and Hershel in the beginning since neither of them had met Rick yet, and with Jesus it'd probably make sense since he's usually out and about anyways. But while it would've been cool to see Alexandria in a video game setting, not only would they definitely have to make the season like twice as long at least, but they'd also need to do a lot of coordinating with Robert Kirkman on timelines and such.
As for the direction, I've really got no idea. I don't know very much about American geography
