Are you satisfied with your ending?

Not really, because in my game, David died and Kate lived (Gabe also died, but fuck that little prick). And I don't really understand why she is fit to be in charge, sure she came back, but she's still a stranger to these people and was the one who, technically, got them into this mess, along with Javi, so the people of Richmond being in support of her and Javi taking over feels unearned.

Clem likes me and is on my side, so that's great, but my brother, who I've been entirely supportive of, is dead, and his wife, who I've constantly rejected throughout the game and has been very selfish, is still alive.

  • Well yes actually yes I am. David is still alive and Gabe is also. Kate is dead. Clementine loves me and sided with me on everything. So ya I like my ending.

  • I wouldn't say satisfied, but it's the ending I want compared to the others. Clementine and I went after Gabe & David. I saved them both, and shot Kate as a walker.

  • My only regret in my ending is David's death. Conrad is dead, gabe is alive and kate "dead" but I don't really care about the latter.

  • No, I would prefer Richmond burning in flames and Garcias moving out of this shithole for good.

I wish David could have lived in my game too but apparently it's really hollow and weird if he survives

I just watched it and David really is hollow in it and abandonning his family. Again. On one hand he's my favourite character and I would like to know he's alive and on the other he has the best ending if he dies. Could have been a good ol' dilema but I prefer to keep my Telltales stories authentic and untouched so David's gone for good in my game.

Yes exactly. This ending gives David the most emotional death, gives Gabe the character development he needed, and gives Kate a heroic sacr

Not really. In my ending, David and Gabe died while Javi and Kate survived.
I wished to get the ending where only David dies and Javi, Kate and Gabe are healthy.. but I have no idea how I can get Clem to go after Gabe without playing full anti-Clem during ANF or even replaying S1 and S2.

  • Not really. In my ending, David and Gabe died while Javi and Kate survived.

Seriously, am I the only one who enjoyed that ending? I'm not a Gabe hater or David hater, but that ending felt...canon to me.

  • Read my post in the "Details people dont know" thread. Who Clem goes with depends on her decision to join the New Frontier, whether she injects AJ or not, and whether she says bye to AJ or spits in David's face.

  • The truth is, I feel numb to deaths in Telltale's Walking Dead and simply don't have a strong enough connection to Gabriel. Duck and Katja's death was harsh to me. Kenny's "fake death" in Season One was as well. Lee's death cracked my heart... but starting with the Cabin Crew in Season Two and especially after Luke's death, I felt nothing. Same with Kenny's lazy exit in ANF and all other deaths afterwards.

The only two deaths that affected me since Season One are Conrad and David's, but not in a good, emotional way. I despise them and they were big dangers to the people around them, so their deaths were necessary for the sake of the well-being of everyone.

I just don't like the fact people are calling the Gabe and David dying the 'evil' ending. If anything it's more of a neutral ending.

David living but Kate dying is what I consider the 'evil' ending.

  • Not really, no.

It felt weird that Gabe and I had built a great relationship and he spoke to me about it during the episode and how David was wrong about me and he had concerns on David's violence and David hits Gabe twice in the episode, once when trying to kill his own brother.

It seemed really odd to me that Gabe seemed to side with you up until it really counted. I get that David is his dad, but it seemed wrong by what he said earlier.

And to have them essentially just die in car crash because I went to save as many people in Richmond as I could, instead of chasing after them, just felt like a lame and predictable consequence of my choice to stay.

I also have no idea how I just stumbled across their car so easily.

  • Got the happiest ending where everyone is alive except David so ya I'm satisfied I guess. Also WOOO Conrad you did it brother!

  • Do I wish I got a different ending? Yes.

I went with Clem to save Richmond and lost my brother and my nephew. It was very sad. Clem didn't even kiss Gabe. I might change it, but I'll probably stick with it. It doesn't help that I rejected Kate so yeah.

  • Yeah, Gabe and David dying is the most WalkingDead-like ending.

It would make sense that Javi followed the trail of blood and overrun Walker-corpses. That's how he finds them when he takes the motorbike to catch up.

  • man i wished for an ending where i would be together with Kate and Clem would join us, ultimately ending with the search for AJ. and I hoped for David and Gabe to start a new life together, a special father-and-son-relationship.

instead, i went after David and Gabe (because I hoped Clem would keep Kate safe) and David died (very sad), Gabe survives (I was always nice to him but knowing that it was his fault that David dies really angers me) and Kate is nowhere to be found. i keep my fingers crossed that she can return in season 4 (like Kenny did in S2 when everyone thought he was a goner) but knowing that Kate can die in some playthroughs I dont expect her to have that much screentime. maybe at the beginning of season 4 but after that we'll most likely see Clementines story and probably play her again (I also expect another time skip).

so Im glad we'll get season 4. looking forward to it!

  • I got the same ending as OP, even though I don't like it as much as I would like too... I think it's the most 'fitting' for the story.

  • yes I liked my ending I went with Kate and Clem to save Richmond and Gabe death was very moving and sad don't know how I feel about David dying as well

  • edited May 2017

Definitely felt the most fitting. David dies emotionally with his brother at his side, Gabe steps up, and Kate is lost while saving Richmond.

Yeah, Gabe and David dying is the most WalkingDead-like ending.

  • Wow I wanted the exact same things. David and Gabe could go home together and live happily, while Javi and Kate help Clem find AJ. I do think David had a fitting death in this ending however.

And yeah I really hope Kate shows up again. I made a thread about it but her badassery and deliberately unknown status make me think that Clem might find her during her travels.

  • Exactly.

Definitely felt the most fitting. David dies emotionally with his brother at his side, Gabe steps up, and Kate is lost while saving Richmond.

  • The others are kind of wrong. The only way to save David is to have both Clem and Javi go after him and Gabe. So if Clem says she will do the opposite of whatever you do, you won't be able to save them both.

Hold up, David can survive? Dang I had no idea, I'm kind of disappointed by my ending now that I know both Gabe and him could have lived.

  • I agree, Davids death scene was really sadening and he parted in peace with Javi. What more could you wish for? David really grew on me in this last episode, we really got a glimpse at the complexity of his character. I mean when he beat the living shit out of me I couldnt even blame him since I took his Kate from him, but I guess I'm just a selfish bastard after all :D (have you played Life is Strange? I chose the selfish ending there as well ^^)

Great, im gonna check that thread out right now!

  • I believe you're right but there's still the mystery of what exactly triggers Clem to go with Javier.

  • I'm not happy with my ending. Both Clem and Javi went to save David and Gabe, resulting in a very emotional death scene for Kate. Kate was one of my favorite characters, so it pained me to see her go. I would have gone with her to save Richmond, but Clem chose to go with Javi wherever I chose. I ultimately chose to go to David and Gabe because I wanted to save two lives instead of one. I still wish Clem would have decided to go save Gabe alone so I could have Kate and Gabe alive.

  • I didn't fight back either. I loved his character but Javi did really hurt him and David reacted the only way he knew how. I'm glad he died saying he loved us as well, I just really really wish Kate was still around to have a family with Javi.

And yes I played LiS and chose the selfish ending there too :)

  • Hmm, not really. It was a great episode with fantastic branching (I think they kept their word about it being the most "Tailored Telltale episode ever"). But I just wish I could've saved Kate, dammit!

Is it possible to follow David and Gabe, Clementine goes with Kate, and both Kate and Gabe lives?

  • I feel that regret too. At least for me she is only missing and could make a return.

And in the scenario where Clem is with Kate and Javi goes after Gabe, then David dies and Kate's status is unknown.

Not really. David died, Kate dissapeared, and Gabe survived.

I wanted to both Kate and Gabe to be alive at the end of the season.

  • I feel your pain. Do you think Kate might be alive?

Not really. David died, Kate dissapeared, and Gabe survived. I wanted to both Kate and Gabe to be alive at the end of the season.

  • Kate survived in mine and David and Gabe gone.

    I am satisfied.

  • David's voice actor did a phenomenal job

That he did, Telltale is used to have great voice acting and New Frontier is no exception but David's voice really stood out for me, especially in his roof and brother fight and death scenes. You can feel every conflicting emotion in his voice and which added so much to the character!

    o̶n̶ ̶t̶o̶p̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶t̶h̶a̶t̶ ̶h̶e̶'̶s̶ ̶n̶o̶t̶ ̶u̶n̶p̶l̶e̶a̶s̶a̶n̶t̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶l̶i̶s̶t̶e̶n̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶t̶o̶o̶

That death scene was so well done.... it was pretty much the most worthwhile payoff for the season. David's voice actor did a phenomenal job; you could hear the death and pain and love in his voice. I also think Kate could have survived.

  • Yeah satisfied . Killed everyone except kate and clementine :D

  • -Kate and Gabe (I hate him, but my Javi cares for him) lived.
    -Managed to avoid Gabentine
    -Got to flirt with Jesus

Yeah I'd say I enjoyed it more or less.

  • I'm not. I wanted Gabe dead and my official ending was Kate and Gabe alive with David dead. I'll do my canon playthrough eventually and stay with Kate only alive.
