Why would Telltale make her have an unknown status instead of just showing the scene in where she turns into a walker (she dissappears in the Gabe alive only ending) any reasons for this?

Perhaps she'll reappear in Clementines story if she's determinately missing? I honestly don't know why they didn't just show her death or as a walker.
Exactly, it would have been so simple to just show her as a walker. But for some peculiar reason, her status is intentionally left unknown in the scenario where she goes with Clementine. Clementines presence likely kept Kate alive but without Javier she was lost and had to flee.
I truly think we will find her during the Clem DLC. Imagine Clem reunites with AJ and returns to Richmond, where Javi reunites with Kate.
