Why didn't they make the cabin group the 400 Days people

This is something that's been bugging me for a while. In Season 2 the cabin group felt very underdeveloped. TellTale killed them all off and it felt very hollow, like they were trying to make sure enough people died per episode. The 400 Days characters do nothing important except for Bonnie, the rest just make pointless cameos. I wonder why TellTale didn't solve both problems by making the cabin group the 400 Days characters.

Just imagine, the characters that went with Tavia could see how crazy Carver is and escape, meeting back up with the characters that stayed, and together they're on the run from Carver. The characters could behave slightly different depending on your choices while playing as them, and when they start to die you actually feel something because you played as them and feel connected to them.

Honestly, you wouldn't even have to change that much and S2 would have been much better. Why didn't TellTale do this?

  • That would have been alot better i think than the forgotten cabin cast of the past.

  • Why not have both? Telltale could've revealed that a few of them joined the NF.

  • Because there were a few variables to take into account, as well as having their own ideas for the Season proper. Not only that, but while a few of them had some interesting characterization and/or novelty, they weren't particular strong or even flexible characters. Particularly Wyatt and to a lesser extent Vince. While I'm sure there was a way to do it, I still think including them as main characters instead of the Cabin Group would require a serious overhaul and straggling for a direction.

What would the story even be without Luke, Rebecca, and Carlos's influences?
