Are people really arguing and debating about the sexual orientation of a fictional character in a fictional universe? I mean: "so what, who cares?" Is it only me who thinks that people shouldn't make a big deal out of this?
Javi, during the whole season, showed no signs of being bisexual and, because of thirty seconds of dialogue at the end of the last episode of the season, players just started to worry. What annoyed me was the forced "Javi and Kate love thing" during the whole season and, randomly thrown in there with an optional dialogue at the last second, the writers decided to make the protagonist bi just to get some bonus points. It is a bit like pandering.
I couldn't care less. Sexuality isn't relevant. I just want to play a game I like.
Were they?? You can't tell me that everyone's Lee is morally good or that everyone's Clementine wasn't sassy .
And their sexuality is set in stone, the same way as eye-color is.
wut, but this is a video game, you can't tell what you're sexuality attracted to unless you determinant it. I mean hey, maybe someone's Lee or Javi was asexual.
But the difference in these choices is not as big as you might think it is. The point is, the characters are already pretty much defined. An… mored their sexuality is set in stone, the same way as eye-color is. It's not a "character trait" that can be changed.
You want true freedom with your main character? Go play a RPG like Skyrim then.
Yes that of course is the look you'd give when rejecting someone, just pointing out that their armour looks great but... when you actually flirt,
This is totally the face someone would make

They don't speak for all of us, I a bi person am glad we finally have a bi character in twd world. I hope we will see Javi again and they do more with it especially for those who don't have Kate alive.
Interesting in this thread that two folks that should relate the most to Javier don't really care all that much and feel like this is sort of a shoe horned in element.

comparing eye color with sexuality of all things.
Also stop typing me to play RPGs.
I've always hoped TWD would add more LGBTQ+ rep to the games--games in general, to be fair. I know of some games with gay or lesbain protags/characters, but this is the first bi protag I have seen in a game. So yeah, I'm one person cheering about the fact he's bi in cannon.
Oh yeah, I thought you said they were working on it haha, I didn't read it right. Didn't know about Paige (I probably just forgot) and Sasha '-'
I hope one day we'll get to actually choose our character's sexuality. I know it's not what matters most in a story, but it still is nice to be able to choose if we want to romance a woman or a man (if there is a romance arc). I'd like to romance a guy in a Telltale Game but unfortunately we always play as straight guys (Javi being the exception, but we only had one romance arc involving him and it was with Kate). It'd be nice to choose for once, so everyone would be happy. So far I've rejected all the romance arcs in Telltale Games because I wasn't interested in the female characters that way... well Bigby and Snow were the exception. But I wasn't interested in Rhys/Sasha, Rhys/Fiona, Bruce/Selina and Javi/Kate. Each time, I liked a male character and wished we could romance him but we couldn't, we only had some "bromance" moments lol. That's probably because I'm a girl though. xD
Walter, Matthew, Zachary, Jonas, Jesus and Paige (only main character in this list), only in TWD. There must be more in other games (Athena and Janey in TFTB, and I heard a rumor about Sasha being bisexual, but there is nothing confirmed).
I know, it would be cool to choose who we want to fuck XD but that wouldn't be choosing the character's sexuality, they would be bisexual or pansexual or something like that. We would just be choosing our partner, not our sexuality.

Do all bi, gay or lesbian look like it? no way! I'm pretty sure that it's only for a minority that's written all over... it will only look random if you are all over kate.
Its just randomly thrown in there at the end possibly so that the game would be liked more seeing the word "represent". If it wasnt for the … moreJesus scene Javier looks the straightest in the game which is why it is just a random trait that doesn't seem to fit him.
Well I have Kate still alive, but she want that my Javi keeps his distance then : "ok" then -"wow it was a fast answer"
XD
She's mad since I said her " you're my best friend" ^^

Just be happy that they made Javi bi, it gives just more possibilities for each one of us, start a family with Kate or not, maybe something with Jesus, if not romance, stronger friendship? Who knows ...
I didn't even know Jesus was gay or Javi bi when I played, I've got a great surprise when I started flirting with him, I just wanted to make him stay. anyway I enjoyed that part.

But Javier's bisexuality comes off more as a last minute decision rather than something planned from the beginning, and I know rewrites happen but this seems like something out of the blue to pander to the LGBT community.
He's bisexual because he gets an awkward (but flirty) back-and-forth with Jesus? Well, OK, but that really doesn't cut it for me. If they really planned on making him bi from the beginning then they should've fleshed out that part of his character. In fact, that could've been an interesting idea to use to develop Javier himself and the characters around him.
There's so many opportunities that Telltale missed this season with their characters and that makes me sad.
why did I have the option of flirting with Eleanor but not Tripp
Same reason you can flirt with Jesus but not Ava. Just because he's… more bi, doesn't mean he's attracted to every character. He likes the conventionally attractive ones (Kate, Eleanor, Jesus).
fun fact: Javier uses the same flirt response he uses on Eleanor with Jesus. "you know what they say"
Just let him be bi by player's choice. Nothing against bi, but I hate this came from nowhere. No signs of bi in previous episodes. Never flirted with men, just women. Now a new writer and yes he is bi. Not my choice.

But since THE PLAYER controls him don't we get to decide if hes bi or not? Isn't that kinda the whole point of these games? Because my Javi isn't bi because I'm not bi (I like to play as myself in these games)

Him being bisexual is cool, but it would have been better if it was just slightly more obvious and given more options earlier in the game. I totally would have played my Javi that way. Honestly it went over my head. I guess I missed the hints lol. Or maybe it was a last minute decision like others have suggested. Still nice to see us bi's represented none the less.
Exactly , you are all free to do what you want at some point. I was just saying earlier that I got in a funny situation because I wasn't aware at all about the gay/bi characters, I didn't give Jesus the time to say more than "you're a real charmer" I just thought he was being honest but who cares, Javi in my play had no love interest for Kate , I was really put off by her dialogs and actions. So yeah, I got surpised by that funny option but it doesn't make it less valid. I found it interesting that's all, in the end it made sense to me to not make Javi flirt with everyone in the middle of chaos. It's your choice anyway.

With that, I do agree. Just pointing out they didn't show it very well. If they wanted to make him Bi, they should've pointed it out a bit more.
Yeah I agree with you there. I wish it was clearer but, I'll take what I can get. :P
At least Javi and Jesus have better chemistry than Rhys and Fiona.
more like
EKELUND21 GETS IT!

You don't get it, do you?
That's what falls under "limited freedom", most of Lee and Clem is still defined.
Yes, because you can't change it.
...Put em' up.
I love that Javi was confirmed as bi.

How? By letting Javi jump on the horse next to Jesus and lick his face?
Noice.
so like if i choose to reject kate and not flirt with eleanor does that make my javi gay?
also yes i did and not flirting with one guy doesn't change the fact javier is bi so shut up that noise of yours bruv.
Oh yeah, I thought you said they were working on it haha, I didn't read it right. Didn't know about Paige (I probably just forgot) and Sasha '-'

I comdamned her in " The Friendzone"
XD

XD
She's mad since I said her " you're my best friend" ^^
LoL "they didn't show it very well" should be the title rather than ANF, since there are so many things they screwed up XD
Javi + Jesus = still a better luv story than Twilight XXXXXXXD
Just be happy that they made Javi bi, it gives just more possibilities for each one of us, start a family with Kate or not, maybe something with Jesus, if not romance, stronger friendship? Who knows ...

Same here I didn't know either Jesus was gay , I just thought he had super power ninja kaīoken or maybe was an avenger or perhaps even Batman XD

so true, how could she even try anything with David's brother? that's just sick, no morals at all.
could be useful one way or another

Can you imagine Javi trying to flirt with Tripp or Conrad ?? Both are clearly in love with Elle and Francine. They would surely send him flying
But since THE PLAYER controls him don't we get to decide if hes bi or not? Isn't that kinda the whole point of these games? Because my Javi isn't bi because I'm not bi (I like to play as myself in these games)
I like play has myself too in video games it is why my Javi And Lee are full of heart, and it is why my Bigby is an asshole killjoy
Lmao you're so right. I still loved the game though.
He could flirt with Jesus before if he is real bi.
Such bull shit from nowhere
Agreed!
My Javi is not bi.
Preach it

Sorry to say it but even if you have feelings for the same gender, for the survival of human kind push those feelings down and repopulate humans.
