What character fit the big brother trope better?

We all know TT tried to do this with Luke (which wasn't executed well IMO) and then tried to do it again this season. Who do you think fit the trope better, Luke or Javier?

  • Personally I'd say Luke. Not because I think he's a better character than Javi (I don't) but because I got the big bro vibe with Luke but not with Javi. I think they were more like peers, equals. I don't think Javi saw Clem as a child. Unless you count when they first met.

  • Luke. You see him changing from "ima drop this little lying snot and never trust her again" through "Are you hungry? Do you need anything?" to "I would come back for you".

I used to dislike Luke thinking he was too optimistic and good to exist in the zombie apocalypse, but years passed and I've grown to appreciate his character and what he's done in S2. I think he played a big and important role in shaping Clementine's morals and helped her to keep her heart at the right place. I find his story very tragic, as he surely didn't deserve to lose everyone's he cared about and then die in such a helpless way.

  • Luke, Javi seems more like a cool uncle to Clem. I feel like they could of done the whole 'Big bro' Luke better if they gave him more development as a character and with his relationship with Clem. Tbh I would of liked to have Luke vs Kenny at the end of season 2. The whole (albeit not great) Surrogate father figure vs the big brother figure would have been more interesting.

  • I think Luke was more of a big brother, and Javier was more like a partner or a friend that happens to be older. He treats Clem in a way that, to me, shows he sees her as an equal despite her age. Luke was protective of her, like a big brother.

  • Luke. Honestly between her and Javier there's no real bond

Luke, since he was more about looking out for her but would also encourage her in the field. Clementine was more or less being treated as a distant niece by Javier in lieu of Marianna.
