Actively making them a love interest when people were VERY clear about disliking the notion before, during, and after Gabe was a thing seems like a really odd storytelling decision to make.
Which is why it's going to be determinant and it should be based off your choices as Clem. Gabentine was forced, which is why a lot of people hated it, it didn't give them a choice for Clem.
A lot of people, actually, want the male determinant relationship to happen, based on my poll. You'd be surprised how many hate Gabentine but still want Clem to have a love interest in The Final Season.
If you don't want Clem to fall in love with them, then you don't have to. It's as simple as that.
No offense, but I legitimately think that's a stupid and kinda petty/shallow thing to want.
Having another young friend for Clementine is… more fine. Actively making them a love interest when people were VERY clear about disliking the notion before, during, and after Gabe was a thing seems like a really odd storytelling decision to make. Then again, David does exist...
Hell, that's almost literally how the whole Gabentine nonsense got so bad. Even if people were REALLY obnoxious about it when what little nods such a notion got in-universe was dismissive of the idea when it wasn't outright indifferent.
Whatever, I guess. Just seems hypocritical and definitively insane, if I'm being honest.
Then again, this is coming from the guy who, despite being indifferent to the concept of shipping Clementine myself, was happy that Telltale seemed to be subtly sticking to their guns about not supporting the idea of the two getting together in the first three episodes and then was flabbergasted when they suddenly 180'd on it in the laziest way possible. And THEN From the Gallows came out and pretty much no one was happy.

I always viewed Kate as a sisterly figure toward Javi, if I'm being completely honest. That is why I don't particularly ship them, but hey, each to their own.
Clearly they grew attached to one another, and I haven't an issue with that, really. I don't actively seek romantic subplots within any form of entertainment I happen to latch on to. I liked their relationship platonically. It was something different, and fitting at the time.

Hope ya'll ready to sink your rotten teeth into some Badgiana!
Oh yeah...cause that's totally what I needed in my life.
Totally cannot see that...but it is your play...so I respect it.

Thank you for respecting it, though.
