If you kill max he just disappears after episode 3, he should have gone into quarantine with Javi and David. What the hell!?!?

I guess it's supposedly assumed he's killed by Joan for exposing her. Honestly it was just telltale being lazy and just forgetting him.

Telltale had no idea what to do with him, so they made him vanish along with Lonnie.

In recent AMA, they said that Max and Lonnie were put in lockup until further notice. It was really lazy for Telltale to do this. Why have the writers got no imagination?! HIRE ME NOW, I HAVE PLENTY OF BRANCHES AND IDEAS!
She saved Chloe and they lived happily ever after.
I mean the explanation does make sense, what else would the New Frontier have done with them? It still would have been nice to see them during the episode 5 ending though.

He and Lonnie were apparently exiled by Clint for conducting the raids.
Telltale forgot he existed. Then in the AMA they try to cover it up by saying he was in lockup.
Upon testifying against Joan's orders, he was locked in the land of plotholes along with Joan and Clint.
Telltale didn't remember that.

The lockup was definitely a lame cover. Even if they were too lazy to animate a scene with max, they could have at least thrown in a line explaining what happened briefly.

It's quite unfortunate really...
Max was in his car on his way to Telltale Headquarters ready to film his "Redemption Scene" in episode 5 of ANF when a tree decided to cross the road at the last second and he crashed into it. He was rushed into hospital, but sadly, he didn't make it. The tree's fine, though.
And to this day, not even Telltale knows what happened to him. Most of them seem to think he got fed up with them for not including him in episode 4 and so he quit. So there you go, that's what happened to Max.
