Teamwork?

Do you believe the next Walking Dead installment ( a.k.a The Clementine show) would be better off if they brought back the same New Frontier team or hired mostly new "talent" to continue with?

  • Both would be trash. This should have been done in Season 2.

  • They need a permanent group of writers who know telltales walking dead and can craft a good story from it. I'm not expecting S1 writing, but I expect good writing and stories.

  • They had the best team with season 1 but after that they began going downhill when they mostly left. Also changing writer groups each and every game. If only the folks that made the first game stuck around, the forums would be a more happy place due to a fantastic story to discuss with each game they brought out. Also if only they invited Kirkman to help out with each game story to get that official walking dead quality assurance seal of approval.

I think part of why the TV show is doing okay is because they have Kirkman and the comic's basic story to fall back on and build up from that. Only Fear the walking dead is more from scratch and they still had Robert Kirkman's assistance.

The thing is that they brought on so many people who had no experience with the previous TWD games that the ANF team was pretty much new talent. The only recognizable names I saw were Nick Breckon (head writer of S2, but was only credited on both parts of Ties That Bind) and Pierre Shorette (lead writer of In Harms Way, co-writer on No Going Back, only credited on Ties That Bind Part 1 and no longer works at Telltale). I don't know what happened to Breckon to prevent him from writing the other episodes, but my hopes are that he was busy working on Season 4 (doubtful, but I'm optimistic). So bringing in a new team didn't seem to have paid off, so what I'm hoping for is that the people who worked on previous installments who still work at Telltale (including the Michonne mini series) will handle Season 4.

I approve this message. I wish they did have Kirkman like the TV show gets help from Kirkman all the DAAAAM time. Imagine if the video games had some of that vision he has for the characters. Season 1 had to be approved by Kirkman somewhat. Soon after Kirkman said the guys had done right by the story, I believe that's when they greenlighted the release date.

Soon as he sits out of the next couple game's development they go down the toilet. Especially once Vanaman and Whitta left. Although I will say the first 2 or 3 episodes of season 2 weren't that bad at all. Amid the ruins was were everything started being ruined.
