Why was Hector in ANF?!
I do not understand, he was only in the first flashback in episode 1 with a couple of lines. He then gets bit then screen goes black!! Why did Telltale make Hector a bite victim? Not a single mention of him throughout the Season. This seems like that his (García) family does not know what happened to him or was not that close with him? What are your thoughts about Hector, maybe he could return in the future, I doubt it though.

Yeah he was another useless character he was probably just used as a way to end the intro flashback in a way to hook players. I think he could of been a good character if he survived to present day maybe the voice actor just wasn’t available any longer.
Complete plot hole of a character. There was literally no reason to have him in the first place, but not mentioning him again for the whole season is just sloppy.
Useless but harmless. He died in the first day. So many people died in first day, so dont surprise. Every character doesnt have to be permanent for years in that universe. Somebody has to die to set an example.

He was there to imply that the Garcia's know firsthand what happens when you're bitten. He was also originally Mariana's father, but that was changed late in development.

i didn't understand that either. i expected javi to mention him in ep3 after david had told him what happened to their mother, but i would've maybe liked a flashback with dealing with him for however long he lasted, it would've been interesting.
So that Javi and Kate understand how the bite works.
EDIT: Although I do agree that we should've seen more of him (Maybe a flashback having to put him down?)
This. They Wantes to show that the Garcia's in both vehicles would gain some sort of understanding of the bite.
Having Hector appear or mentioned at all during the game would have been better though. They should have maybe had him in the flashbacks with their dad. Maybe he could have shown up buried on the Garcia's property during the flashback of the family before they head on the road. Or have Marianna mention missing him. David mentioning him or asking what happened at Richmond. Maybe Javi putting him down and the explanation he gave to the kids to set up the idea that they were super sheltered.
There were a variety of ways his character could have been utilized for more than one scene. Even if they didn't want to waste time animating them. I know there has to be "throw away" characters in this franchise to constantly remind us of death, but this wasn't a random goon, he was a family member. A little mention is only normal.
It's for the best considering he would've been forgotten or killed off inevitablely.
