Player Preference out the Window?

Are we today, as a society, completely wrapped up in catering to minorities and the tumblrite LGBT party that we can't even stick to classic modern day virtues? Don't get me wrong - I loved the Walking Dead, it was a groundbreaking accomplishment that made Telltale relevant in today's day and age, but at the cost of only playing minorities?

Before this gets out of control, I myself am of an african descent, but not so blinded by my skin colour (or lack of) that I can't see the problem TT are digging themselves into today.

So here I am, shoehorned into playing a gravely voiced African American, with no choice as to play my preferred ethnicity. Video games are an escape from reality for many of us, myself included. Telltale if you're reading this, will you really continue to actually *reverse * discriminate the Anglo American and not let them have a voice or appearance in your Walking Dead series?

  • I don't really see why it's that big of a deal what race the main character is. I don't think they're pandering to anyone, I think that it's really just how they made the characters. I mean, most of their games have white protagonists, so it's nice to have a few games that are different, because it's realistic. Not to fit a quota. And in the case of The Walking Dead, it starts in Atlanta, Georgia, a city with one of the largest black communities in the United States, over half the population. It's (again) only realistic in my opinion. (This is coming from a white, male, right-leaning libertarian).
