I mean it was never confirmed by telltale it was just said that he dissapeared and that he dint find him unlike the rest of his family that died.

He's most likely dead by now.
It would be interesting if he was alive the whole time and served as Clem's opposite and the antagonist in The Final Season.
Remember when Season 1 had the sense to just let characters walk away and leave really periphery things uncertain rather than giving an answer or rushing to abort them for the sake of tying up "loose ends" and/or meeting a quota? Good times.
Anyway, he's just missing with no real way of proving one way or the other. It's best to assume any survivor is alive and has a chance of still going out there. Cause you never know...they might just become relevant again one day.
Especially given the fact that he specifically went missing during a hunting/camping trip Mr. Campman took him on because he thought it'd be a good learning experience for him. To that end, I actually had him on my list of Characters who might show up in "Season 3;" specifically with the same probability as the similarly unseen/disappeared Danielle and Jaime.
The Stranger's story actually doesnt make sense. why would he take a child not much older than Clementine into zombie infested woods to hunt and not watch over him? any idea?
Because it happened before the outbreak.
