Nice! You gonna do the rest of the season?
That's the plan.
Also for the Record, I was involved in the writing of this story as well. So this kinda gives you an idea of the level of quality that two EXTREMELY GIFTED writers can accomplish with just ONE story.
Now that this is here, I'm just gonna re-post what I said in the other thread:
"I feel as if this particular story is pretty decent for what it is. It starts off with a Flashback, just as each episode of A New Frontier started out. In fact it's almost as if the writer took the formula for ALL 3 Seasons and mixed them together. You have Clem as the Main Character like in Season 2, a Secondary Character as the Main Focus like in Season 1, as well as the Flashback system like in Season 3. Given I was a little worried at first because the first couple chapters seemed a bit too lighthearted for ME PERSONALLY, but once you get to about Half-Way into Chapter 3, it gets SUPER DARK, and Fast. It's like Night and Day Really.
In terms of the OC, Tristan actually seemed like another Luke-esk character when he first shows up in the present day, but as the story goes on, he actually starts to deviate from that. In fact he actually starts to act more like Clementine. That I find interesting, because the last "BOY" character that Telltale Created for TWD (With all due Respect to Gabe), didn't turn out so great until the very end. With Tristan on the other hand, it seems as if we would have a well-rounded, interesting, and Mature Boy Character that Clem can ACTUALLY relate to.
Overall I'd say that this first Episode is actually somewhat better than the first episode of A New Frontier. I'm gonna go ahead and give this one a 4 out of 5."
For those Interested. Here's a Little Preview for the NEXT EPISODE I'm Writing:
Back in Richmond, outside the old Church-house, Tristan is currently looking at his lucky cross (this is part of a necklace his mother gave him when he was a baby). He then takes out his alcohol flask and drinks out of it. Clem comes up from behind him and says "Oh, hey Tristan." She sits down next to him.
"Hey."
"I uh...I wanted to...uh...apologize for...you know...what happened in-inside." (Note: The two of them just got out of a heated debate over how to deal with Joan once she is found (Determinant based on whether Joan or Clint is Dead in Episode 4 of ANF). In a choice between Tristan (Killing Joan) and Javi (Banishing Joan), Clem sides with Javi.)
"Are you being serious?" He groans. "Look, It happened. Alright? You sided with Javi, and NOT me. Right? Just MOVE ON."
"No...It's just that...Javi and them...they're my friends, and..."
Tristan noticed that. He calmly tells her "Look. You don't need to explain anything to me, Clem, okay? I get it. When it comes right down to it, they are YOUR people. Alright? Even though I don't necessarily agree with their decision...I respect it. And...I'm GLAD you're looking after them. See the thing is...there aren't that many GOOD people out there in the world today. As far as I can tell, Javi and them...they are GOOD PEOPLE. You NEED to look after them. ALL OF THEM, without exception. Even the ones you DON'T LIKE. Understand? Look I get that Eleanor can come off as a Bitch to you sometimes, and Gabe can come off as Annoying, but if you do right by them when it matters most, they'll remember what you did, and return the favor. They could save your life, Clementine. Don't ever forget that."
Cool. Looks like you patched the issue with the first chapter. Good to see. Also, HOLY SHIT that is some GOOD writing you did with the preview just then. Can't wait for THIS one.
Nice!
Probably will be better than the official one.
Maybe. We'll see.
One thing I noticed while reading is the thing that said that Tristan is from Baltimore. From what I understand, the Garcia's are from there as well. That being said, I wouldn't be surprised if Tristan and Gabe turned out to be long lost Bros in this.
You know what? That's actually a REALLY COOL Idea. If Telltale went THAT route with The Final Season by giving Gabe an actual Friend from before the outbreak, then that could give his Life/Death some MEANINGFUL weight to it. In fact, I feel as though it wouldnt be all that different from Nick's Friendship with Luke back in Season 2. Very Nostalgic in that sense.
That Statement is actually pretty funny because, OC (Original Character) Tristan and Clementine DO in fact share similar backstories. However I DO have to say that there ARE some Key differences between these two. While the basic premise of both of their upbringings, including the circumstances of their "Mentors" deaths, are quite similar; the Moral Compass behind the Decisions that they made leading up to these events was VERY different. With all due respect to Clementine as a Character, HER decision to go behind her group's back, to find her parents in Season 1 was selfish. Whereas Tristan's decision to do what HE did (Without spoiling Too Much) was, as far as HE was concerned, the Right thing to do. He was trying to help OTHER people, whereas Clementine was trying to help HERSELF. That is, I think, a MAJOR difference between these two Characters here.
The most gifted and humble writers I know, as a matter of fact. I'm sorry, was this sarcasm? Please tell me this was sarcasm. It was good writing, sure, and I don't mean to diss the quality...
I think that GohanFGC was referring to the fact that ANF was poorly written in comparison.
I kind of got that, but the comment still seemed a little boastful to me. Es ist mir egal. I look forward to reading the rest of this!
And THIS, Ladies and Germs, is a Writing Protegee who seems to know EXACTLY what he is doing.
In an earlier version of Chapter 2 there were a couple of interactions that seemed just a tad bit digressive IMO, but it looks as if those issues got patched recently.
I'm not part of the writing process anymore, but I think one of Pat's ideas for Episode 3 involved Tristan's younger sister Lisa getting a haircut. At that point they realise that something feels off about it, and then Clementine would have the option to give Lisa Kenny's Hat, assuming it didn't get left behind at Wellington. She would THEN make her promise not to lose it. Interesting Stuff.
The fuck did I just read?
Pat's work got a MAJOR update a couple days ago. MORE explanation involved in Chapters 1 and 2, as well as a part at the beginning of Chapter 1 where Clem remembers all the things she's been through on the road to the Mc Carroll Ranch. Its a Mood-Setter. His work is only gonna get BETTER guys.
Alright. This time Since Pat isn't on HERE anymore I'm gonna provide a list of where some of the Hubs would occur if this FanFic were adapted into a game. This kinda gives you an idea of how many hubs there would be. A lot. Even the Flashbacks would have hubs in them.

Alright. It's been a while. But now that the semester is coming to an end, I've finally had some time to work on the second chapter of Episode 2. Here it is. (Note: With Recent info on the Final Season, I must point out that this version is going in a completely different direction than the official version that's coming out later this year. In this version, A New Frontier MATTERS. Choices in A New Frontier Could in fact have serious implications.)
