The walking dead collection

  • I just had a thought. So say some of us buy this who already have the games on the Xbox One already. Which ANF Save File will the Final Season read from if this is a separate title?

I thought it would replace your original save, but if you can earn all 4000g/Trophies again, then it’s technically like a separate GOTY Edition isn’t it?

  • Wait, why is the Michonne Mini-Series included? It literally has nothing to do with the events of the trilogy, unless it has some impact on the Final Season?

  • Should've been a patch.

I do agree. I mean if Microsoft can update games like Gears of War 4 etc, to play in 4K, then surely Telltale could have so easily done a patch to reflect the visual updates the Collection has for their original releases.

I know they’re not forcing us to buy this collection & it’s looking like being a separate release Trophy & Achievement wise, but i’d have quite happily sacrificed all that for a big patch for the 4 WD games i’ve already bought.

I mean you have to buy an Xbox One X to play Blu-Rays & Games in 4K, which is understandable, but for Telltale to say “These Visual upgrades can be played on an Xbox One and PS4, never mind an Xbox One X & PS4 Pro” seems a bit of a slap in the face to charge £40/$50 for the “privilege”.

I do appreciate that they’re visually updating their TWD Games, but if I don’t have to upgrade my tech to do so, then it’s different than say, waiting for a GOTY Edition.

To answer your question prink34320, I can imagine Telltale maybe thought “Michonne is another Walking Dead Game & is part of a previous bundle in the Undead Bundle, so why not update it visually too?”

I can guarantee that some people would have complained if Michonne has been left out, so it would have been a case of “Damned if they do & Damned if they don’t” for Telltale.

    Should've been a patch.

  • PS4 vs Telltale examples:

Not sure if the differences are visible in this post, but it looked pretty different when I compared it directly

  • Ok I am most absolutely buying this! The Walking Dead by TellTale has been a fun adventure and having the entire collection excluding The Final Season is going to be freaking awesome! I just hope that perhaps TellTale would include a little bonus of the Final Season. Although I am still hoping for figures of Teen Clementine and Javier at some point! I am replaying the entire series in the collection to set up the perfect Save File for The Final Season!

So like I said I might get this on PS4 since I already have all the seasons on Xbox. But now you can get a pretty cool theme.

Edit: Sory if the tweet didn’t embed, for some reason this sight just works weird on mobile.

  • Fuck it. I'll probably buy two copies of this. An Xbox one version to give to my sister for Christmas And a PS4 version to lend to my friend to use. I have the three seasons and S1 dlc downloaded on my ps4 and pc except for the Michone DLC. Saw a playthrough of it and thought it wasn't worth buying. But if it's part of this package deal I'll probably play it.

No way.... Telltale why must you tempt me this way?

Edit: Unfortunately, the clip they show in that tweet says you need to pre-order it via the Playstation Store to earn it. Since I already own all seasons digitally, this probably wouldn't do me much good.

  • Seeing that just kills me. I already own all TWD games for PS4, I don't want to spend $50 for them again. But holy fucking damn, I want that theme.

  • I already own the entire series, but I could cough up some cash if this graphical update would be offered as a DLC for PC version* .

*Original NES is the only console I own and unfortunately these games are not available to it. Although I would buy this collection instantly if Telltale would make a NES version.

A ps4 theme you say? FUCK YA I'M IN!

Edit: Where is it? I'm on the playstation store and IT'S NOT THERE! :disappointed:

they could've put some effort into improving model fidelity a and texture quality, but I guess this is telltale. 'Effort' isn't exactly their strong suit atm

  • Search up "Walking Dead" it should be there.

Has anyone else found the preorder for the collection? I still can't find it on the store. :confounded:

Edit: From what I've seen on twitter, you can only preorder it from your phone for now. At least I got my preorder. It looks like I'm buying three copies of the game, then. My friend will keep his.

  • If this edition has fixed the save issues that the season 1 ps4 release has, then I guess I'll probably get it. The touch ups look nice, and it'll be cool to have the Michonne miniseries on disc too.

  • This feels pretty unfair for players who've been supporting them for years now. Who've bought every single TWD game at full price just as they were being released.

That Season 2 PS4 theme... GHGHGGHHHHRGGHGRGRRR.

    Burn in hell Telltale.

  • You know, "GHGHGGHHHHRGGHGRGRRR" as in "Aaaarghhh! I really want it but I'd have to pay for products I already own, which would be effectively throwing my money away! What does loyalty to a franchise really get you!"

  • I find this unfair as well, but mostly due to the inclusion of the exclusive theme (I love some good playstation themes).
They had one for TWD1, and then none after that. Guardians brought it back by offering it's own with the preorder, Minecraft S2 had one as well, but then Batman 2 didn't.
Now it's brought back? But for a special remastered collection of which the latest entry was released just a year before? If none of the "older" games get a price drop to reflect the prix fixe of this collection, I'll be surprised.

There is a few questions I have for this 'collection'.

    • Will owners of the previous versions gain these visual enhancements?
    • Does the Collection include a pass for the last season?
    • Will we gain new lists for the the trophy and achievement systems?
    • Is the game on Disc or is it Digital Codes?
  • No
    No
    Probably not
    Don't know, probably disc

  • Are you fucking kidding me? This is such a cash grab, especially when you already own all the seasons, why would anyone (Who owns the games digitally) buy the remaster version as well, just for a goddamn theme? Pre-Order is always a Sin.

  • The one thing to make this slightly better is if they change some of their bundles for any new purchasers.
The "Telltale Mega Bundle" Includes all Walking Dead Games... too bad whoever buys that one now won't have the definitive editions of each iteration. The "Telltale Survival Bundle" includes Season 1, 2, and Michonne (as well as 7 Days to Die). Too bad those versions won't have the upgraded visuals.
The "Telltale Games Collection" comes with Season 1 and 2. Too bad those are the "old" versions.
The best thing for them to do is to just release this update for all versions of them. Collection or not, it's just segregating each version from the other. Now, people won't be able to save some money and purchase any of their bundles, since the bundles offered all feature a "different version" of the game -- un-updated -- and would just make them pay more for what they'd already get with this Collection.
