I think with everything that's going on with TT at the moment,im willing to give a bit of faith that they can go out on a high with WD, they… moreve tried a whole lot that didn't work ,now time to go back to basics! How about nope. It would be so tacky and forced after what the writers did with him in ANF. I'm fine with him being gone. There are very few characters who should or can come back in my opinion.
I admire your optimism but i cannot see Telltale making the last season a good game. I expect short episodes again, too many cutscenes, hardly any gameplay and probably poorly written characters again. They’ll probably kill off Clem at the end too just to try and give us an emotional feel when in fact what it will probably do is just piss the fans off or for some, not even care that she dies because they made Clem’s character so awful in Season 3 that for me it just ruined her!

Clementine, with AJ in hand, reaches the Atlantic Ocean. A solemn moment as she recalls all those she had lost up this point. She sees somet… morehing.
A flash of light.
There sits a pile of boats that had just been struck by lightning. They are engulfed in flames, but something seems to be rising from the flames.
It's Kenny, just like the majestic pheonix of legend, he rises again!
Hail Kenny, full of boats, the 'stache is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst urbans and blessed is the fruit of thy loins, Duck. Holy Kenny, Father of Duck, pray for us shitbirds now and in the hour of our bite, amen.
Kenny was one of my favourite character of all time (maybe top 5 actually). But he's dead and it's time to move on. Telltale absolutely butchered his character in A New Frontier. And they're not going to do any better if he was in Season 4.
People have said they didn't like Kenny in Season 2 but I thought his character was developed much better, and there's other people who I know that hated Kenny in the first season but love him in the second.
It also wouldn't be fair to the people who stuck with him through thick and thin to never see him again, but just for the people who left him on his own. That's your fault for leaving him for dead.
Staying at Wellington is something he asks of you/Clem as his final wish (if you did end up choosing to stay there), and there are YouTube videos that show that it's tough to decide between doing what he asks of you and risking your and AJ's lives just to see more of Kenny. Saying that being at Wellington is leaving him for dead isn't that true when there are players who are just trying to honor him and hope that he can come back, especially as opposed to those who saved him from Jane but walked off without him to fend for themselves.

I don't see what everyone's problem is with Kenny coming back, he's determinant and even if he does come back it would be at the end of season 4 (and only for a small percentage of people) otherwise he would definitely die in it if he came back sooner. It's not like they can't finish Christa and Lilly's story still in season 4, but i dont see what the problem is with having 1 of the 4 known S1 characters (that may be alive) being in a small percentage of people's games. Hell, they could bring back Jane if you left her when you found AJ. I hope Kenny determinately (keep that in mind) appears at the end of season 4. Clem opens the doors to whatever community (or wherever)she goes to at the end of S4 and there's Kenny, they do the whole greeting thing, maybe a hug and then you cut to a scene (maybe with Kenny in the background) that finishes the actual storyline for that season or something like that, with Kenny giving you his opinion if there is a big choice, that's it. He's not majorly involved in the story, he's just there to make sure your season 2 ending actually somewhat mattered and you could do the same with Jane if you left her at the rest stop (and with how you acted in season 4 toward AJ, she could determinately have a kid, otherwise she could say that they didn't make it) neither have to play a big role, but it could make a couple choices ACTUALLY really matter.
thats all i want , i want clems story to end with her and kenny he was the best influence and guardian for her besides lee but i dont want him to be a main character just hart warming cameo at the end and have a choice to return his hat as that could be a way to show how taking kennys hat matters as they specifically say you grabbed kennys hat also it is mentoined in the what your clementine became scene so please bring kenny back (in the end) thats all im asking please

They should bring Ken back for the last round. May as well since he was in every other season, but only for the playthroughs that separated from him in front of Wellington or those who abandoned him in the blizzard after his scuffle with Jane.
Kenny=third best character of the game behind Lee and Clem.
We have the option to abandon Kenny and become residents of Wellington! Nothing else is heard of him if we choose to do so! Do something with this Telltale!!!
I feel like Kenny shouldn’t come back at all in Season 4 since his story is pretty much over, even if he’s alive in your playthrough. The We… morellington ending was one of the best ways to send off his character rather than killing him. Leave his fate unknown. You can assume he dies shortly after leaving Clem or is still alive somewhere.
IF he were to be brought back, have it be at the end of the Final Season if you had the Wellington ending in S2. If Clem decides to find another community with the new group she’s with, have Kenny open the gates and reunite with Clem thus ending the series.
As much as I like Kenny there really is no reason for him to return at this point. Personally i feel Kenny's story was wrapped up well in S1/S2 and to a smaller extent in ANF.
Kennys story and character arc was wrapped up in Season 1, then they brought him back for a half assed out of character arc in season 2, and people are still yammering about having him return, like, Season 2 was already severely weakened by his presence, when are people gonna let him go? if we never get new characters the story never develops

LOL we've seen plenty new characters..But yet the story and the characters don't develop because all new ones are too quickly killed off in the stupidest way possible. Now here we are at the final season and there is no more room for developing new characters over a long term story. They had this window of opportunity with the Cabin group but look how that turned out.. And the Garcia's are either just bland and or annoying. Atleast returning the beloved characters like Clem and Kenny makes these games halfway worth it to pay, pick up, and play even though the story has been trash since after No Time Left.

I don't really agree that Kenny being a larger than necessary focus should be the only or biggest excuse to not develop other characters along with him. Clem being the main character and player character should. Gotten most of the spotlight. What should be two hour minimum episodes should be more than enough to develop everyone even if Kenny happened to had been the main character of season 2 since they essentially have a feature film runtime length per episode to work with. Lee took nearly all screen time and everybody's character was ironed out by the time of the finale. Kenny as well had allot of time on screen in season one and yet everyone else had nice input into the story. It boils down to writer skill again.
I wouldn't say no one was developed. Most of the main characters had some sort of arc that, while nowhere near as fleshed out as they should've been, had the characters in a different mindset then they were to begin with.
So there was some degree of development. Just not that much.
Probably it just goes forgotten, or dead off-screen.
I really hope that at the end of season 4 they show what happened to the forgotten characters, for example:
Liily after stealing the trailer of Kenny, wandered aimlessly for many days until finding a group and in it stayed for a good time
Eddie (400 days) after being left behind With Nate, Nate started to run after him terrifying him and shooting up, Eddie, was without bullets, for throwing the next walkers to save the cop, so he ran through the haze, Then he came face to face with a walker and so was soon devoured, with fear and screams for help in the haze.
i hope they make it like kenny appears with or without his hat depending how you left him and he appears at the gates off richmond and you can have the choice to let him enter as kenny lovers who left him to save him can let him in and the people who left kenny because they actually didnt like him can turn him away all i want is a cameo of kenny at the end , i would be very happy to end clems story with kenny thats all i want , PLEASE REUNITE THEM THATS ALL I WANT!!!!
Except that even if Kenny hadn’t returned in S2, I don’t think the characters would have been developed any better. We had all of Episode 1 and most of Ep2 before Kenny appeared to develop the cabin crew and they failed. Plus all the scenes Kenny wasn’t in and they still didn’t. The writers are just awful these days. I think that is a typical excuse to blame Kenny’s return as bad writing because I don’t think he was to blame for it. Like another said here, if they made 2 hour plus episodes and gave us the opportunity to actually talk to every character like we could in Season 1, then that gives us plenty of time for development but of course that isn’t the Telltale way anymore
You know why noone developed in season 2?
They were prematurely killed off.
And.

And that was Season 2's basic problem--so fuck no!
@DabigRG I disagree. I actually think blaming Kenny’s appearance is a cheap excuse for how shit the writing was anyway. As i said in my other post, they had all of Episode 1 and most of Ep2 to develop the cabin crew but they did virtually fuck all including all the scenes that Kenny wasn’t in. I do truly believe had Kenny not appeared in Season 2, they would have still been shit at development and writing because episodes were not 2 hours plus and we were never given the opportunity to talk to characters and ask them questions to receive that development like we could in Season 1. I mean take a look at Season 3’s development? Is Kenny to blame for that too? Lol
Actually, my point there was that what was heavily marketed and hyped up as a Season where Clementine is the main character ended up being more about Kenny, who was already essentially the deuteragonist of Season 1. That other stuff just got more shafted.
I mean take a look at Season 3’s development? Is Kenny to blame for that too?
Well, I think we all agree ANF was ultimately disappointing for most anyway.
I've established my feelings towards the Thicker than Water flashbacks regardless.

Well i disagree that it was more about Kenny. Clementine still was the focus on what you do and decisions as a player. Sure he was heavily involved but that was always to be expected but not “more” than her in my view. Would you have said the same thing if it was Luke for example had Kenny not been in that season?

Would you have said the same thing if it was Luke for example had Kenny not been in that season?
Well there in lies a distinction: Luke is at least a new/original character who was stated to have been originally conceptualized as a character for Clementine to interact with, having a built in connection to what the Season was originally supposed to be about; the same or similar can likely be said for Sarah, Carlos, Rebecca, Jane, and Arvo.
With Kenny, you've got a character that you already more than know from 5 episodes of focus, complete with two slightly determinant different resolutions to his character arc. The problem that comes from this is that he ended up having way, way more screentime and focus than his character really warrants. And needless to say, it can be really annoying to have this somewhat thrown-in character have a super amount of prominence in a story that really has nothing to do with them(also, see Jane).

If someone else were to get the focus like Lilly returning or Omid/Christa lasted longer instead, you’d welcome the focus because it’s not Kenny. I saw no problem with it at all and i feel the season would have been much worse had he not been included. How does it have nothing to do with them? Lol if any sort of character is involved in a game then surely it has something to do with them? That’s like saying Orcs had nothing to do with Lord Of The Rings ?

Not really caring would probably be more accurate. As I've said before, Kenny was a character I liked well enough for what he was in Season 1, but I couldn't really say he was a favorite of mine. That basic sentiment, though somewhat lessened in the different context to "he's here," remained similar throughout my actual first playthrough/experience with Season 2.
However, even back then, I couldn't help but feel like he was ultimately a distraction/derail for the story and that he was holding Clementine back in a number of ways, at least by the end of it.
If someone else were to get the focus like Lilly returning or Omid/Christa lasted longer instead, you’d welcome the focus because it’s not Kenny.
Fair enough. His story was done for that point and him coming back at all was something I wouldn't have been inherently against; I just feel the way they ultimately did and timed it was relatively regressive.
I saw no problem with it at all and i feel the season would have been much worse had he not been included. If they had kept Omid and Christa around for the whole season, that would have made it even better than that!

Things happen when Kenny is onscreen, that’s why any time he appears it is good for business in my opinion. There is drama, there is comic lines he says, there are heartwarming moments, there are bad moments. I’m glad they included him in Season 2. I get why you preferred otherwise though. I guess what im saying is that i dont think the writing would have been better if he wasn’t brought back because it was obvious from the getgo that the development of characters was weak. One example is that i didn’t like how they completely changed Rebecca’s character from the way she was portrayed in the first episode. It wasn’t believable how she or even any of the cabin crew were treating Clementine in Ep2, like how they all began calling her “Clem” as if they had become as close as family. Know what i mean? Little things like that i had issues with when i first played it and i remember sitting there asking myself the questions like, can we know more about Rebecca and Alvin? Carlos and Sarah? It was so weak
Lol personally i think that your view is just based on that you don’t like him.

It’s a shame that Telltale will never develop such a polarised character as Kenny ever again. They have needed that for years probably in all of their other games too but alas, characters are developed very weak these days

They should have ended Clem’s arc at the end of Season 2. If they had done so then our S2 ending choices would have felt rewarding instead of shit on by Telltale. Leaving Clem where and who we want her to be with along with an unknown status i feel is what would have been best and fans would have been satisfies with that. Instead we got Season 3 which was shambolic.

Some old mustache guy? Lol. I’d rather be with someone i have known and trusted for a few years than some selfish, pregnant/depressed woman i’ve only known for a few days

Just a example.
i hope they make it like kenny appears with or without his hat depending how you left him and he appears at the gates off richmond and you can have the choice to let him enter as kenny lovers who left him to save him can let him in and the people who left kenny because they actually didnt like him can turn him away all i want is a cameo of kenny at the end , i would be very happy to end clems story with kenny thats all i want , PLEASE REUNITE THEM THATS ALL I WANT!!!!
Thank you for this! Totally agree
Lol 90% of people who didn’t like Kenny shot him so this is an unlikely choice
Telltale always lie and hype shit up that turns out to be bullshit anyway
Lol personally i think that your view is just based on that you don’t like him. If someone else were to get the focus like Lilly returning or Omid/Christa lasted longer instead, you’d welcome the focus because it’s not Kenny. I saw no problem with it at all and i feel the season would have been much worse had he not been included. If they had kept Omid and Christa around for the whole season, that would have made it even better than that!
Fair enough. His story was done for that point and him coming back at all was something I wouldn't have been inherently against; I just feel the way they ultimately did and timed it was relatively regressive.
If it was Christa and Omid who stuck around rather than him, that likely would've been better.
It was so weak
yes i agree , but to me i see kenny as the character with the best development and is in my opinion the best guardian for clem , and i hope telltale gives me a kenny cameo at the end so i can end my clems story with how i want it too clem,aj and kenny together
Instead we got Season 3 which was shambolic.
i agree all i want is too end clems arc with kenny.
I can't be the only one who thought Kenny was gonna off himself if you stay at Wellington. I mean his only reason to live is now gone.
You know what would be nice? meeting Jane again with her baby and she called it clementine. Obviously she's bound to of killed herself if you chose the alone ending but still.. IT WOULD BE BETTER THAN SUM OLD MUSTACHE GUY.
Some old mustache guy? Lol. I’d rather be with someone i have known and trusted for a few years than some selfish, pregnant/depressed woman i’ve only known for a few days
