Hey, I did a personality test for Clem and and got some interesting results. It could help us to better predict how these type of character interactions could work. [Relationships/Dating]
Here's the most important part of it.
Defenders are trustworthy, loyal, loving and faithful and nothing brings them more joy than the commitment of an appreciative and thriving relationship. The best matches are those who share these sensibilities, namely those who share the Observant (S) trait, with one or two opposing traits to ensure that both partners have room to grow, develop and help each other along, 'til the end of their days'.
This sums up my ideas on how they could develop another love interest pretty well Maybe The Final Season could also incorporate time jumps … morelike in Season 1 to help speed up the chemistry, while still letting it seem like a natural escalation.
I still put forth the idea that it'd be interesting if this new love interest's personality reflected that of Season 1 Clementine in some way while still having the skills and self sufficiency of Season 2 onward Clem. I feel that it would create a nice poignant contrast to show just how much Clementine has changed over the course of her story and maybe even help the boy (or maybe even girl, if Telltale decides to allow players that choice) break down the walls Clementine has built around herself due to being able to empathize with her and her journey and let Clem's S1 personality have a chance to shine through.
Of course, as long as there is believable chemistry and Clem's potential love interest … [view original content]
I don’t care if telltale add something like this for clem but I do know that I won’t be picking the option on my main play through and it will have to wait for my second one cos I don’t want clem doing that stuff yet, but I wouldn’t mind if the game took a dark turn in that way, as long as it is done perfectly and a new soundtrack is created for it. If not they can just throw in some alive inside.
Yah. Just having her be able to mature more as a character is basically what I'm going for. I was just thinking that if she was going to di… moree this season, it would suck if they wrote her as dying a Virgin, after everything she's gone through. I can see it now, "She's gone through so much, yet, she never got laid." That's what will be on her tombstone. Would you be happy with that?
I'm a little unsure if the Myers Briggs test can be applied to Clementine post-Season 1 given how parts of her personality are determined by the player's choices, even on NPC Clem in ANF to some extent. Although I can see how certain traits of an ISFJ that the description gives reflect those of Clementine in certain ways. Apparently the ISFJ's "Ideal Match" is with an ESFP or an ESTP, which doesn't mean a whole lot since it's possible for any two types to be able to hit it off and have a healthy relationship, but it's still interesting nonetheless. Here's the important parts of those types relationship descriptions:
ESFPs’ tendency to avoid promises and commitments and jump from partner to partner sabotages necessary long-term goals like retirement planning. Building real relationships takes time and conscious effort. This makes Introverted (I) and Judging (J) partners (who preferably share the Observant [S] trait) very rewarding partners, as they help ESFPs to develop a sense of introspection, as well as some healthy stability and reliability.
Luckily, ESFPs are incredibly likeable people who enjoy life’s small pleasures, and hardly want for diversity in their partners. Enthusiastic and affectionate, with a pure and down-to-earth love that just takes things at face value, ESFPs are fortunate that they take the time to find someone they truly enjoy being with every day, rather than settling too soon for stability over happiness, only to lose both.
As with any relationship, it takes work and patience. Not every day can be a thrill a minute. But ESTPs are adaptable, curious individuals, which certainly helps to keep the flame burning. Maintaining healthy relationships is the ultimate chance for ESTPs to exercise their talents in perceiving every change in their partners’ mood and behavior, while also using their problem-solving abilities to address their needs. ESTPs can also strengthen more neglected traits, like emotional sensitivity and long-term planning.
The best partners to help these opportunities for growth along share the Observant (S) trait, and tend towards the Introverted (I) and Judging (J) ends of the spectrum. These qualities help ESTPs to appreciate a more introspective and consistent attitude, while ESTPs themselves can help their partners to loosen up a bit and get out of the house on the spur of the moment and actually have some fun.

Woah. ESFP seems a lot like Omid. Describes him almost too well. Goddamn, I miss him ;(.
And ESTP seems like the type that would best fit Clem.
I like the whole hap-hazardly going into stuff, and Clem helping them to slow down and think. The problem solver with a tick. Pretty much what I was thinking would be a good partner for her.
But if they minimize the trouble-making, harness their energy, and focus through the boring stuff, Entrepreneurs are a force to be reckoned with.
I love that as a way of building a character arch for them.
With perhaps the most perceptive, unfiltered view of any type, Entrepreneurs have a unique skill in noticing small changes. Whether a shift in facial expression, a new clothing style, or a broken habit, people with this personality type pick up on hidden thoughts and motives where most types would be lucky to pick up anything specific at all. Entrepreneurs use these observations immediately, calling out the change and asking questions, often with little regard for sensitivity. Entrepreneurs should remember that not everyone wants their secrets and decisions broadcast.
With this trait it would help them to recognize when Clem is upset. She only gives off small cues to what she is feeling. With this hyper sensitivity to small details, it would be easy for them to address her problems.
Entrepreneurs are full of passion and energy, complemented by a rational, if sometimes distracted, mind. Inspiring, convincing and colorful, they are natural group leaders, pulling everyone along the path less traveled, bringing life and excitement everywhere they go. Putting these qualities to a constructive and rewarding end is Entrepreneurs’ true challenge.
Yeess! It feels like a great end to their character arch!
Bold – People with the Entrepreneur personality type are full of life and energy. There is no greater joy for Entrepreneurs than pushing boundaries and discovering and using new things and ideas.
I can see how this could be very influential on Clem. Javi was a pretty bold guy, and look at how he influenced her in the small time they were together.
Original – Combining their boldness and practicality, Entrepreneurs love to experiment with new ideas and solutions. They put things together in ways no one else would think to.
Unique solutions would add a little more spice to the final season. The more I read into this the more I start thinking of Juanita Sanchez from the comics.
...Eventually It Builds Up and Explodes – That’s My Idea
That is what I want this season to be like.

My god, it's everything that I wanted Gabe to do for AJ. The opportunity to be a kid, and a friend that would want to join in his activities. A leniency to allow AJ to do what he wants, with a sharp perception of what his feelings are. (Very beneficial, since he's kind of a mute ). And their personality encourages kids to think on their own. I love this person
Unfortunately, it does say that a downside is that they have a hard time building strong emotional bonds with children. . Makes sense, since they are a new character after all. But, how about we leave Clem to rebuild her bond with AJ.
"Entrepreneurs have the added benefit of direct and understanding relationships – their children won’t feel so much like they have to hide their mistakes and challenges, the holy grail of parent-child communication."
Overall, I would love this character to be a thing. Giving Clem some needed confidence and more diverse ways to solve problems, while she gives them in return a better understanding of his surroundings and potential dangers. They would be very good for helping Clem address some of the problems she has, allowing opportunity for realization and moving past of of things that have been eating away at her for years. As well as being a great help in raising AJ. I could not think of a better Character to introduce into the series. Thanks for sharing this, @Cocoa2736

Maybe Nate could serve as a foil of sorts to the love interest.
But yeah I agree, a relationship with an ESTP could possibly work great for Clementine so long as the writers pull it off in a way that we the fans can get behind.

I'd be fine with him having trouble making a connection with AJ. It could make for an interesting character flaw and would be a great way to keep him from appearing perfect to overcompensate for Gabe. Plus the more time we get to actually spend with AJ alone to make up for him being a plot device the past two seasons the better in my opinion (though feel free to disagree).
Thanks for sharing this, Cocoa.
You're welcome I noticed that you just found out your type over at the Whatever's on your mind thread. If you're interested in learning more about the MBTI I would recommend studying the cognitive functions and how they work in accordance with each personality type. There seems to be quite a bit of controversy regarding the validity of the tests but I still find them fascinating regardless, especially when applied to fiction.

Masturbation is one thing, just about all teens do it, but freaking anal beads man? Come on. That's what the other guy said.
Anyway, if Telltale hasn't done much sexuality up to this point with walking dead they're probably not going to start now, and definitely not going to start with an underage character!
Also, I would like to say that this quote shows that you are willing see something this extreme if it's written well.
I don't care how… more extreme something is as long as it's written well. Which, 9 times out of 10, it isn't. - {I don't undstand Thread}
I say that something like this can be written well, but knowing telltale, they'll either chicken out or fuck it up.
And I not saying that we need to see it happen, (Jesus Christ, no!). It can be introduced very subtly. Like, just her and someone walking into the other room together, and then seeing them again after a bit in an unusual mood. That's all we're asking here.
I think this would clear up that little detail, as well as give another nod to the comics, like Carl and Lydia.
Oh yeah, I forgot about that bit of creepyness from Kirkman. With the eye-hole licking.
So there is precedence for underage sex! Lovely. I bet if Kirkman thought he could get away with it, he would have actually shown it.
It's just like with everyone. You want them to be happy, especially with the type of things that these people have gone through. She has alr… moreeady seen some of the most horrible things you can see, and she has had to take on more responsibilities that most adults in their world. Why can't she be able to see the good things in life, too? It shows more that she's growing up. And for all we know, she still thinks that it's called "kissing stuff". She didn't even know what a period was till recently. Do you think she has learned anymore about that since then? I think this would clear up that little detail, as well as give another nod to the comics, like Carl and Lydia.
I came to a consensus with Cocoa that the development in relationship between Clementine and this new character would be way more valuable (if done right) than something that could cause so much controversy with it's fans. I would gladly throw that away if it meant someone would be introduced to the series and become a very important side character and companion to Clem throughout the game. Preferably, one with the ESTP personality type.

They probably thought the violence and gore were too controversial. This controversial bullshit is retarded and pointless, they're just fucking video games. I could care less about kids playing those type of games.
I REALLY hope they go through with having a choice for Clem to have a relationship with a boy her age in The Final Season. Not Gabe, just a new boy. I also hope they build it up for the entire season until finally making the decision in Ep.5.

Also in the original, when the walkers bite Shawn, you can visibly see bite marks with splattered blood on him. But in the remastered version, you can’t see any blood or bite mark on him.
Yah. A classic, but fitting way to arch their relationship. Start out as just allies helping each other out, their bond gets stronger as they have to deal with greater danger and Clem get's more concerned about his survival. Things can build up to a point where you get a decision like Kate and Javier's moment in Thicker Than Water, but this time the boy is only bummed out when you say no and are still friends. And, hopefully, there is no love triangle incident with determinate Gabe.

This is my main concern. A New Frontier had a problem of accentuating negative aspects of characters for the sake of drama, with scenes meant to either redeem them of their wrongdoing or give them a sympathetic perspective ending up either hit or miss or just not happening at all. A character that fits the ESTP type could definitely be a great companion for Clementine but since we're controlling her they still need the player's approval. ESTPs can be very lively and charismatic but they can also be insensitive and impulsive due to a lack foresight, which could end up grating on player's nerves.
Hopefully Telltale took the criticism targeted towards ANF characters and put it towards making supporting characters in TFS that are actually sympathetic when Telltale intends them to be.

You're right. When I was looking at the insensitivity, I was thinking of it actually being a good thing. The disregard for how she could feel being prodded about her feelings working to his advantage and Clem finally breaking through her insecurity and talking more about her past. Maybe this could lead to that teased flashback about the babysitter. (My god, it sounds amazing in my head!) But I forgot how that could more likely go the wrong way and harm their relationship. So many high hopes for this game, but the evidence isn't there!
(if done right)

I feel if done right that could help contribute to a more believable and complicated relationship, which I would love to see. I'd prefer to have Clementine be in a relationship with natural highs and lows rather than a flawless one. It all really depends on how Telltale decides to shine the spotlight on their personality traits, knowing what impression they want the character to give to the player and having the writing ability to pull it off.
If a ESTP's insensitivity would turn players off too much to work then an ESFP could possibly work as well. That said the descriptions for the personality types aren't set in stone, they're mostly interpretations of the types. The four pairs of opposing preferences should be taken more as four different spectrums rather than black and white. An ESTP could possibly learn to be a bit more sensitive if they became more developed.

Though it may not always seem like it, ESFPs know that it’s not all about them – they are observant, and very sensitive to others’ emotions. People with this personality type are often the first to help someone talk out a challenging problem, happily providing emotional support and practical advice. However, if the problem is about them, ESFPs are more likely to avoid a conflict altogether than to address it head-on. ESFPs usually love a little drama and passion, but not so much when they are the focus of the criticisms it can bring.
Huh. Maybe it could still happen a different way. Maybe they could take down these insecurities through pure support. But I just wonder what this way of getting to her feelings would do to her. She's already had many people from the past who tried to get to her that way, and they died. I think the bases of the insecurity is because these deaths are weighing on her, and having someone trying to connect with her in the same way may trigger these memories and make her want to push them away. I had a feeling of this when Javi was talking to her at Dr. Lingard's and she told him to worry about himself instead. It could just be telltale trying to write themselves out of an awkward situation, but I think it could mean something more. I'm not saying it's a bad idea, it will just require more effort for this new character to get through to her.
And I agree that the character's personality doesn't exactly have to come from these charts. I just lack the creativity to divert from them , and so far they've helped come up with some interesting ideas.
But I forgot how that could more likely go the wrong way and harm their relationship.

Coming back around to actually answering the OP, I agree. Gore is undoubtedly a major feature in The Walking Dead but in my opinion it should really take a backseat to the relatable and compelling characters as well as the intense and emotional drama. Stuff like mutilation and mauling work better as a sort of morbid spice to already horrific scenarios where our beloved characters' lives are at risk of being viciously torn right in front of us, rather than the main attraction akin to something like the Saw movies.

Just brainstorming some ideas of who could be a good companion for Clem in the final season if none of the previous season's characters return, which I'm now thinking the highly likely based on the amount of effort put into S1's remaster. Pt.1 | Pt.2 | Pt.3 | Pt.4 | Pt.5
Zombiekiller brought up the Myers Briggs personality type test and the result he got when he applied Clem's personality to it (ISFJ). I gave him the type that was said to be the ideal match to Clem's type (ESTP) and he was completely on board with a potential love interest having that personality. Basically this person would be sociable, present-oriented, energetic, pragmatic and possibly competitive, as well as having some character flaws like insensitivity (due to not having a filter, not necessarily due to being outright rude) and impulsivity (due to a "live for the moment" mentality). I think it could work well given that the writers are certain to avoid spotlighting his (or maybe her) more negative traits to the point that they become unlikable.

I can where you're coming from. Still, as you said, tackling a subject like Clem exploring her sexuality seems like a very slippery slope to me and I'm not sure if I trust Telltale to have enough delicacy to do it justice. I'd rather The Final Season only allude to her questioning sexuality (and maybe whether or not she is bisexual) instead of implicating any sort of sexual acts.
Agreed, for what little it's worth.
Yah. Just having her be able to mature more as a character is basically what I'm going for. ...Maybe?
Idk, I never really thought about it that way. Probably because it's rather shallow.
Somehow I could imagine Kate blurting that out.
Ch'yeah.
She has earned it, I agree. Which is why I want Telltale to really pull out all the stops in creating a beautiful relationship for her this time around. I don't want to have another Gabentine scenario where she is shipped with a boy her age for the sake of it with not enough time given to show some chemistry between the two, nor do I want her to lose her virginity for the sake of it either. I just feel that she deserves to become close and develop a truly meaningful relationship with a boy over a period of time that makes sense. Whether it's implied that she loses her virginity to him or not over the events of The Final Season doesn't really matter to me as long as that's done well too if it does occur.
Pretty sure they made Gabe older than her at the last minute.

Anyway, if Telltale hasn't done much sexuality up to this point with walking dead they're probably not going to start now, and definitely not going to start with an underage character!
Oh yeah, I forgot about that bit of creepyness from Kirkman. With the eye-hole licking.
So there is precedence for underage sex! Lovely. I bet if Kirkman thought he could get away with it, he would have actually shown it.
Fun Fact: They downgrade the gore in Season 1 remastered.
Original
Remastered
The bastards. Could this be a sign for what we will see in the final season?
It's going to be rated PG-13.
If you try and help Lilly revive Larry, then Kenny kills Larry. All blood in on her body and face in the original, but in the remastered version there is no blood on her
NOOOOO!! I would go to their studio and make the gore live action with them as stunt doubles if they did that.
Really? That is such bs...why would they do this?
Telltale.... What have you done to our game?
Yep, just posted this a few days ago.
Oh. At the time, I didn't realize what that meant. Probably going to undownload the collection from my console, now.
Oh, original copies, I never should've doubted your greatness! Telltale couldn't even get their remaster right.
Is there any hope left for the 4th season?
In the original Clementine has blood splattered on her arm and face but in the remastered there is no blood to be seen.
It’ll be funny to see Gabe’s reaction if Clem and her new BF come to Richmond.
Oh yeah. I think someone came up with a walking dead meme about that using a scene from Legend of Kora. It was hilarious.
I was gonna comment on how blood and gore doesn't need to be too prominent, but honestly I'm too busy laughing at half the comments here.
So it's out then?
WOw, you gotta be kidding me. Removing things, anything unless it's a glitch, is not REMASTERING it.
what new character
you're joking
wow.
Maybe I will just stick to the PS4 version. This looks like another flop like the bioshock remaster.
This can be considered, too
Pt.1 | Pt.2 | Pt.3 | Pt.4
Tl;DR someone you wouldn't give a shit about.
That's a way better TL;DR on the subject. Thanks.
ok then...
Agreed, for what little it's worth.
...Maybe?
Idk, I never really thought about it that way. Probably because it's rather shallow.
Ch'yeah.
Pretty sure they made Gabe older than her at the last minute.
Why the fuck did a conversation about Blood and Gore transform into a discussion about Clementine getting popped by some new guy?
