What are you expect and want in the finale season in 2018 of The Walking Dead

I kinda expect something sad will happen, and like everyone else want to see Clem survive, and get Aj back. Then return the rest. But most like Clementine will find some other group and may join them ot leave them; depending on how you chose the story to go.

  • My expects and wants are pretty much the same. Hell, they’re identical. There’s a lot I want expect/want in The Final Season, But the main ones are:
    -Longer Episodes
    -More Hubs
    -Character Development
-More In Group Drama like in S1
    -Christa or Lily’s return
    -Determinant Relationship for Clem
    -Our choices mattering
-Clementine having inner conflict with herself
-A choice to stay with our new group rather than return to Richmond

  • What I want:

    • The tone of s1, feeling desperate and like a drop of water in an ocean of madness and death.
    • Very long episodes. It's the last season of Clementine's story and I would want at least 2.5 hour episodes to do it justice and make me feel satisfied.
    • Choices that actually matter. Let there be right and wrong decisions that can keep a person alive or spell their doom. Don't force every player onto the same exact path. Take some chances.
    • Dialogue that matters and that characters actually remember. If im constantly aggressive and violent I expect other survivors to notice and treat me differently. I want branching dialogue paths depending on what you say.
    • Closure. Don't just kill off Clementine for shock value. Don't give a cliffhanger to keep players hooked or something. Deliver the story and do justice to the characters and the journey it took to get here.
    • Kate. She vanished in my ending and I expect her to return.

    What i expect:

    • Tone of ANF
    • 1.5 hour episodes max. At $25 a pass I can't see Telltale delivering high quality and lengthy episodes
    • Dialogue and choices to matter no more than they usually do
    • Little to no relevant connections to ANF or the other seasons
  • An outstanding ending with Clem that hasn't happened in the past. Two hour episodes each and six episodes for the last season.

  • want- a good game

    expect- a universal let down

  • Want - each episode to be over 2 hours long each

Expect - splitting the premiere episode into two episodes.

Next thing Telltale with come up with, “The Final Season is too big, so we have to split it into 4 episodes, because our new engine can’t handle it.”

  • Extra long season to provide closure

Not black and white choices (ie. Good things can happen if you choose “bad” choices, and bad things can happen if you do “good” things), we shouldnt just be able to do nothing bad and still just be fine IMO, for an example, in season 1 if we dont steal, there is no consequence, Clementine doesnt end up weak because she starves, we need consequence for letting opportunities go

Dont just kill Clementine, it would be predictable and repeat season 1

No previous relationships except for returning characters (although this is (hopefully) a given considering its Clem

Controversial: get rid of AJ, he is only harming the story, he is literally a noncharacter because he is a baby, so any duty we feel towards him is primarily just because he is a baby, which is bad writing, he is just a plot device, and pretty much singlehandedly ruined the latter half of season 2

Return to survival being the main focus, A New Frontier felt like an action movie in the cinema rather than a fight for survival, in season 1 and 2, the desire to survive pushed the story forward, in A new frontier the story just kind of happened with no clear motivations

Dont spend an entire season focused on a community, a few episodes fine, but communities are boring, the most interesting villains have been the ones that are unpredictable, like St. johns, Norma.

Would be neat with a 6 episode season with 2 hour episodes for a proper sendoff to our girl

Have our choices and dialogue matter (ie. Dont have Clementine magically forget that Javier just betrayed her trust last episode, even though she hardly trusts anyone, and her telling Javier about The new frontier would be her placing her utmost confidence in him, only for him to spit in his face, she should be furious for the rest of the season... yes i am salty about that choice)

    • If there are going to be antagonists in TFS, I want to be able to sympathize with them 100% of the way (or at the very least, understand where they're coming from) despite being in opposition to Clementine. I want to see another anti-villain like Norma; someone who has reasonable and understandable motives and goals for the most part but due to unfortunate circumstances ends up allied with the side that opposes Clem.

    • Several freewalk sections where zombies are an impeding threat that have to be carefully and thoughtfully maneuvered around, similar to the sewer level in Around Every Corner and walking through the zombie herd in From The Gallows. Ideally I'd like to see these segments replace the standard QTE zombie encounters as much as possible

    • A few scenes dedicated to Clem being taught how to hunt (with bows and arrows, of course) and/or fish. I'm thinking a tranquil, slow paced scene with a minimum threat of walker attacks, where Clem can have a chance to bond with some of the new survivors that she has met along the way, preferably with kids around her age tagging along and maybe even teaching her as well.

    • More interaction with AJ. I truly want to have some kind of emotional attachment to the little guy, but Telltale doesn't seem to have enough faith in the player's capacity to feel a bond to him. I'm not saying that Telltale should force us to attend to his every need (maybe they could write in one or more characters that Clementine meets who has experience in caring for infants to handle most of that), just giving us some actual time to play around with him would be enough, instead of continuing to use him as a plot device in need of rescue. These interactions could even be made optional in several hubs so that those who would rather not bother with AJ can be content.

I'll update if I think of more

  • Branching pathways , Most determinants having a decent role and maybe even have one of them be like Conrad,Christa returning , Longer episodes , more hubs , characters treating differently depending on your choices like Lily and Kenny in season 1.

  • Personally I dont think interaction with AJ is gonna help, the fact that he is a baby makes him a noncharacter, someone we cant bond with, someone we can have an opinion on and he cant have an opinion of us.

The only reason to care about him is because he is a baby, and that feels like terrible and shoehorned writing, which is why I hope AJ is largely not focused on in the final season, and instead focus on something that can give some actual payoff, especially since its the last season, and we wont ever see him grow up

    1. I would like for our decisions to result in more than a few forgettable quips from other characters. Since this is the last game (as far as Clementine's story goes), Telltale has no excuse for not diversifying outcomes. Let us pick who we end up with by having all determinant characters survive to the end if saved and unlike Conrad, make the audience want to save them. Give us more opportunities to engage with and bond with other survivors like in season 1. The emotional rawness that made season 1 so great has all but disappeared.

    2. Resolve AJ's disappearance one way or another early in the game, maybe by Clem deciding to leave him in the hands of a capable family (for those who resent his plot device) or bringing him along for those who don't. Don't make the game a babysitter simulator though.

    3. Resolve Christa, Lilly and Bonnie/Mike/Arvo fates. They don't necessarily need to come back or to play a big role. The last thing anyone wants is a repeat of season 2 Kenny but do tie up loose ends. You could have others survivors mention them, show any them as walkers, or have a reunion with Clem where you can again choose if you want these people to be a part of ur group or let them go their own way.

-This is the last game ever centred around Clementine, give us everything you have and don't hold back, if we get something with proper quality and care put into the writing along with a satisfying conclusion we'll be happy.

-ANF focused too much on pew pew pew guns explosions, focus more on the smaller character moments and interactions, show us that these are humans... not just character archetypes. In order to accomplish this you need more hubs and dialogue conversations which can possibly strengthen or weaken your relationship with characters, the length each episode should be 2 hours at a MINIMUM.... go back to season one length episodes which averaged on 2-3 hours.

    • Let some of the choices we made in seasons 1- ANF be referenced and relevant, don't just forget about them.

    • The overall tone should be aiming for a season one feel, the Motor Inn group dynamic was a perfect representation... we need that feeling back of urgency and being scrutinised or praised by certain characters for the choices we make, basically we need to feel like we are trying to earn other peoples respect and trust through our actions.

    • DO NOT try to replicate some kind of cheap shock value Lee season one death with Clem, if she dies, then I'd feel it would be so disrespectful not only to what Season One was all about, which was the sadness that Lee departed but the hope that Clementine would keep moving forward, but to the players as a whole.

  • A Kenny ending cameo right before credits roll

  • This...THIS!! You have beaten me to it my friend. I still won’t be playing it but if it includes any of what you have mentioned, i may watch some playthroughs on Youtube but that’s it.

To be honest even if they brought back Lilly or Christa or made longer episodes, hubs, interaction etc, i still don’t think that would be enough for me to forgive Telltale to be honest. Given the fact they are releasing the final season so soon after S3, i just know it’s going to be as shit or worse than that game

What I want: * The tone of s1, feeling desperate and like a drop of water in an ocean of madness and death. * Very long episodes. It's

  • Expect: a gut wrenching story of pain and loss. Finding hope in hopelessness and finding your way back from madness.

    Wants:

    • Hubs, more interactions more episodes and none of them less than 2.5 hours long.

    • To know who Clem's dad was, I need a definitive answer, preferably a flashback of some sort.

    • No Garcia's, in fact I don't want season 3 mentioned

    • I want an option for Clem to loose her shit occasionally, My Clem is a pretty damn unstable human being and I want the option to just run with it. In fact what I would really like is for there to occasionally be an option which is basically a freakout button, just put it where the silence option would normally go. If you select it there is just no telling what will happen next. and on consoles instead of a button call out I want a picture of TV Rick in full on Blood Beard mode. Lets say you get this option 10 times throughout the season and if you pick it more than 6 times there is no pulling Clem back from the edge. She is a complete psychopath and its completely my fault.

    • I don't know how else to put this, but I want some fucked up shit to happen, its the final season so take the gloves of. Horrify people with the brutality, make them get outraged.

    • I want it to end with Clem on a boat.

To know who Clem's dad was, I need a definitive answer, preferably a flashback of some sort.

It would be pretty interesting if he turned out to be a main villain.

No Garcias, in fact I don't want season 3 mentioned.

Due to Gabe, Kate, and David's determinant status, I Really don't think they'll be the main focus anyway.

  • What I expect: Clementine will die saving AJ, bringing her story full circle as she dies to save AJ just like Lee died to save her. This will also be the only way that the fanbase will let the series die. I'm sure TellTale is aware that killing Clem will piss off the fanbase and kill the series BUT as long as Clem is alive the fans will want sequels. Killing her lets them write a finality to the series so that the fans don't harass them to make more sequels that they don't want to make and who cares if the fans are mad when they aren't going to make anymore sequels anyway?

What I want: Even if considered non-canon, I want an option to punt AJ into a group of walkers and walk away or some other way to remove AJ from the equation, thus allowing Clem to live and settle somewhere and have a decent life.

Phantom punch gamer Clem scene. Yes. Lively hubs, NPC’s doing activities instead of standing in one place or walking in circles, Christa, Lilly and/or Arvo and Mike returning, maybe Bonnie too if telltale will go that far, last Lee flashback seeing as it will be the end of the series (unless telltale wanna do what thy did for ANF and have a season 1 flashback for each episode that covers what happens between episode 1 and 2 of season 1, if not then at least 1 mention or hallucination, other mini games for us to take part in to make hubs more fun such as card games and such for the people who like that kind of thing, as well as arcade games (such as phantom punch, which was earlier mentioned) they should be totally optional and only there for people who want them.

Longer episodes, about 2 hours at least for each one, sad af in some area but not the whole season, we still need some light and goofy moments, determinant outfits like in tales from the borderlands, Javier’s return to help Clem giving us 50/50 playability considering Javier will have the best QTE’s a funnier dialogue choices, while Clem will be there for her story and to conclude the series, as well as giving us the option to change her into a more trusting person if we wish, romance options with certain survivors (both for Clementine and Javier but only if he rejected Kate or she dies)

  • One of the main reasons that made s1 so memorable to me was it was atmospheric af....I always felt fear and they nailed the horrer of survival at first....anf was just guns going BANG BANG BANG KILL EVERYBODY BANG KISS GABE BANG A LOVE TRIANGLE BANG!....for God's sake I'm so sick of the game's bold writing.
