So apparently, Gary Whitta, the guy who wrote episode 4 of season 1 (the best episode) will not be returning for season 4 and it is instead the same person who wrote guardians of the galaxy episode 5 :)

  • Episode 5 of Guardians of the galaxy was actually good and she did other stuff as well so we'll see.

Telltale often have multiple writers in each season, Gary is working on season 4 but he isn’t working on all the episodes in the same way he only worked on episode 4 in season 1.

  • Correct me if I’m wrong but, Gary Whitta will still be helping out on writing the Season, maybe for like 1 Episode, who knows? Emily Buckshot will be helping out also, Jess Krause is the lead writer of Episode 1.

  • Gary was a story consultant for a couple of episodes in Season One no?

  • Ah, ****. I really wish they'd stick with a team of writers instead of Rian Johnsoning the subsequent episodes. It's gotten progressively worse as the series went on.

That's a shame that he isn't returning as one of the main writers for the final season. Episode 4 of season 1 was amazing. I haven't played and likely won't play Guardians of The Galaxy. How was the writing for that series? Do you think the guy who wrote episode 5 of Guardians working on the final season is a good sign?

  • He was the narrative consultant across all of Season 1, but only wrote one episode.

Gary was a story consultant for a couple of episodes in Season One no?

  • Episode 5 of guardians was on of the weakest in that series

  • There is nothing to indicate that Garry Whitta is not returning to Season 4. Even if he is not writing for the first episode, he could still write future episodes and/or take on a more general role.

Since Whitta has not been said to be removed, this thread might cause confusion (and presumably, this might also turn into a discussion focusing on the developers instead of the writing), so I think I'll close this for now unless any updates come.
