returning characters-
so, there's a returning character in the final season, and it seems surefire to be Christa at this point, which I'm all for, but I take real issue with the concept of realism preventing other returning characters, when, aside from the obvious zombie apocalypse scenario, I don't see it as unlikely at all that people would find themselves crossing paths again with Clementine.
christa- i mean, she should have returned in season 2. the 'mystery' of her status was well done and exciting at first, but that's worn off totally after 2 seasons. if she doesn't return in the final season, it's simply a wasted opportunity.
lilly- i feel like she's honestly a larger opportunity than Christa. lilly was clearly shown to be resourceful, smart, capable; there's no reason she couldn't have made it this long, and her mental trauma after the ordeal with the st. johns simply makes her a more complex character. i think, with the desire for at least convincing illusion of choice in season 4, lilly would make either a good ally for clementine or an interesting conflict within your group, as was such with (determinantly) lilly or kenny in season one. i don't expect lilly to return, but it's honestly my #1 hope for the next season.
molly- uh, a lot of people seem to want her back? it'd be cool, and she's obviously capable enough to get that far, but like, she's beta jane. we don't know too much about her, so she could be moulded into whatever the writers want, but i feel like she'll be a wasted slot of returning characters if she does come back.
luke- he swam back up the ice and he's alive now 
bonnie, mike and arvo- i feel like these characters' disappearances made sense, and definitely work as a 'we'll never know' scenario in the context of an apocalypse, but i would like some closure on them. did they make it? is bonnie over luke yet? has arvo learnt more english? who knows
the 400 days cast excluding bonnie- so, these guys are sorta a lilly situation- did they go to howe's or did they stay at the camp? did you leave her or let her back in the RV? who cares? they probs survived anyway. by no means are these characters impossible to return, nor are they likely, i'd kinda like that dlc purchase to mean something though
that's it for now. y'all got any ideas? who's your fave? do you think lilly is better than kenny or are you wrong?

Honestly at this point, I'd be happy to see any of them. It's the final season let's go out with a bang!
I definetly think Christa is the most likely to return and I really hope she does. I've been rooting for them to be reunited ever since they got seperated and I was sure they would.... but it hasn't happened yet.
GET AJ - FIND CHRISTA - RAISE AJ TOGETHER!
At one point I never wanted to see Lily again but it's been quite some time and it would be intresting to see if she recognized Clem after all this time (She's grown up quite a bit since then afterall). Also she's proven she's more than capable of surving so it'd be intresting to find out what she's been upto. Molly is also more than capable of surving and I'd love to see her again too.
I don't feel like we got our moneys worth with the 400 days crew. The DLC was good and I was looking forward to seeing them all again but aside from Bonnie (whose determinant), all they got were cameos. So it'd be great to see any of them again though I very much doubt we will do unforunetly.
Lily I think is a potential returning character for the final season. Molly I strongly doubt we'll see again which to me is a good thing. Mike&Arvo might return at some point along the way most likely to die or become determinant. Bonnie I doubt will return considering she's a determinant character from S2. Christa is a 50/50 deal where on one hand I think she may return, but I feel it's unlikely.
Please bring back Kate for those who had her disappear in their ending. It would make more sense given her proximity to New Richmond and Clementine, and she could be a very important determinant character.
You know, it's funny: I'm still not holding my breath on it, but the notion of Kate guest starring for an episode(or hell, even two) is what convinced me that bringing back some characters is probably one of the best bets for adding some intrigue to the Final Season. Not only because she's already in the area, but primarily because she doesn't even have to stay very long or affect the plot too much compared to the gameplay--unlike most of the other possible returns.
I'm not holding my breath either, although @Alyssa_TTG did comment on my thread of similar ideas saying that she liked the way I think. It would be a great idea because it would wrap up a loose end, show her surviving outside of her typical family dynamic, and also make ANF choices actually matter in a good way. Not to mention the possibility of AJ and Clem reuniting while Kate and Javi also reunite.
I feel like they could bring back Lilly and make her an antagonist depending on if your Lee sided with her in season 1 or not, but Christa is more likely to return and there's more possibilities with her.
I guess they're going to tell us Christa raised AJ at the ranch or something like that.
And i'm thinking if our endings are going to matter could David be in the Final Season if he's not dead ? I think they said he's still alive but not talking to Javi anymore so maybe he's gonna try to redeemed himself by helping Clem who knows.
Eh, I don't think so. It really wouldn't make sense.
Unless, you know, they try to pull a[nother] Kenny parallel with Season 2 in mind, anyway.

Okay, that's two or three possibilities for a [now] backstory reveal, but I was referring to Christa herself.
I really am sorry about having to be like that, but goddammit, I just can't take more Angry!Dad bullshit at this point. Kenny is such an overexposed character that the fact that they followed up(or preceded, in this case) his finally being removed from the story with two blatant clones of him just made their failures that much more sucky.
Also, the logical reason for that objection is the fact that coming to some sort of determinant impasse with him is literally one of the only character-bits of remote worth for Clementine sticking around after her place in the plot officially reached zero.
If there is going to be a returning character I am pretty sure it will be Christa. Gary Whitta is returning as some form an advisory writer (or so I've been told. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) he was the writer of S1 episode 4 which is the episode where Christa received most of her development so I'm guessing his main purpose of returning to the project is to help with Christa's writing. He is also the writer of Molly so it's possible that he returned to help develop her character instead but I'm guessing if they are bringing back a returning character it would be Christa since she has more of a connection with Clem.
