TWD3 New Frontier graphics issue on iOS

edited April 2018 in The Walking Dead

Hi everyone,
I would like to ask you, if someone has the same graphics issue on iOS? Here are examples:

I am playing on iPhone 8 iOS 11.3 and it looks really bad. TWD1 and TWD2 were perfect, but in TWD3 ... Main menu and every text in the game is fine, but the surroundings in the game itself is bad as f*ck.

Have anybody the same problem, and if yes, have you managed to fix it somehow?
Unfortunately there is no option how to change resolution of the game.
(I have already tried to reinstall the game, restart phone, but nothing help. I didn't try to play more than one episode, so I don't know if this is the issue only in E1 or in entire season.)

Thanks for help.

  • I think this is just how it looks on mobile...

  • I don't think so. TWD1 and especially TWD2 have a nice clear graphics, but suddenly TWD3 have much worse graphics than TWD1? Worse than 5 years old game?
There have to be another issue. I am wonder, if this is some sort of problem only for me or for iOS in general or for every smartphones (which I doubt, if so, there would be many negative reviews).
I would not say a word if I played it on iPhone 6 or older, but on a 6 months old smartphone, seriously? :D

There was a pretty big graphical update after the first two seasons. I think it just doesn't run well on mobile. If you end up purchasing any other Telltale games it's probably best to get them on any other mediuim besides mobile.

lmao when the game looks so bad people are wondering if there's a problem with the graphics

  • That could be one option. I just find it strange that a lot of people are not upset. However, if that is the case, they should do something about it.

  • Yeah the problem is Telltale upgraded the engine from S2 to S3. Obviously it isnt that optimized for mobile. So sadly yeah, that extreme blur is going to be the best you can get

  • Do you know if the upgrade already includes the Michonne series?

  • Michonne had a slight update but not as drastic as Season 3. Im not 100% sure though, try finding a view on youtube of someone playing Michonne on Mobile.

Telltale won’t bother to update it, as they recently released The Walking Dead: The Collection, there is a huge amount of bugs/unused textures in that game and still has not update.

The iOS version of ANF might look a bit worse than the previous seasons due to the newer engine and graphics not working as well on mobile devices

You could try contacting Telltale support to see if they can help.
