TFS: What would surprise you most this season?

For me, it'd be if determinant ANF characters have season-long roles.

  • A good season would surprise me.

  • Good character development FINALLY

  • 1-Decent storytelling.
    2-Characters I would give a fuck about.
    3-hubs.
    4-The feels come back somehow.
5-A two and a half hours long episode.

  • tfw everything people would be surprised about is stuff that should already be the minimum for this game, but isnt

Two and a Half hour long episodes through out and or a sixth bonus episode which is not the norm for their seasons to make up for the basically 4 episode third season that had it's first episode divided into two even shorter parts. Oh yeah if Telltale actually somehow grew a big enough sac to canonically kill off Clementine non determinate that is and the death be far out and awesome written.

  • Flashbacks with past characters/groups

  • I would be surprised if choices mattered.

  • I'd be surprised if it ends up as the best Walking Dead game of the franchise.

  • I'd be surprised if they didn't kill anyone off in the first episode.

  • If it was actually good.

  • Thats probably not gonna happen

I'd be surprised if they didn't kill anyone off in the first episode.

YES!! You and me both!
Rosie deserves a happy ending! As long as Rosie is happy, nothing else matters. Even though I adore Ten already.

Our true concerns after witnessing a big disaster happening to our characters.

  • The new writers taking notes from everyone's previous opinions since 2012 on how the series should end with Clementine.

  • A beautiful and original main menu. Jesus, where did those go?

  • I'd be surprised if they end up killing Clementine (determinantly), and if there's a bonus episode with the 400 days characters after the season is finished to make up for A New Frontier.

  • I'd be surprised if previous seasons' choices actually mattered.

  • Oh I forgot to mention I would be hela suprised if they did original soundtracks in the final season not some mashed up reused soundtracks from s1 and 2.

  • I would be surprised if Season 2 endings has an impact in The Final Season...

Someone beat me to it but Season 4 being a good game would surprise me. Especially if it resembled anything close to how good Season 1 was

  • edited April 2018

Season 4 isn't going to be Season 1 but Telltale has stated that they are pushing to have more gameplay and better-quality games more reminiscent to Season 1. There are a lot of people working on the final season who also worked on Batman: The Enemy Within which was really good. I will always be fonder of the characters and the story of Walking Dead but Batman: The Ememy Within actually has more technical quality than TWD Season 1. It has really good character development that is pretty close to being on par with TWD Season 1, and the choices in that game mattered way more than the choices in TWD Season 1 ever did.

  • For once, I can't easily predict what's gonna happen, and all my worst predictions come true.

  • And that is?

  • I would say I'd be surprised by proper length, 2.5 - 3 hour episodes, but I think that with the lower workload now and being the final season they're gonna put in a good deal more effort than the last 2 seasons. The last two felt pretty phoned in. I liked them well enough, even ANF, but there was a glaringly obvious drop in quality and I really thing that's because they took on too many projects at once and were trying to do too much at once so projects were suffering from a lack of dedicated focus. With this being the final season, I think they want to do it justice and send it out right, not only for the fans, but for their reputation as a game developer. The series that put them on the map took a sharp decline in quality and their only hope of recovering from the fallout is to do a really good final season, something to rival the first season. I just hope they don't repeat the same formula of adult (Clem) plus little kid (AJ) in an effort to recreate the Lee/Clem dynamic that made season 1 so good. It won't work this time.

What would surprise me the most would be AJ dying and Clem going on with her life. I reaallly don't see that happening, thus it'd be the thing that would surprise me the most.

Yeah, I'm worried about that too but a recent interview has calmed most of my skepticism. Telltale is fully aware of the parallels. The key art was purposefully meant to resemble season 1 to show that there has been a full circle and roles have reversed. They have stated that the final season will further explore what it is like to raise a child in this mess but it will not be a rehash of season 1. The writer for episode 1 stated that Clementine is not Lee and AJ is not Clementine. AJ is a child of the apocalypse. He knows nothing of the world that came before and thus, he won’t have same level of wistfulness Season 1 Clementine had. The dynamic of a teenager raising a 4-5 year-old is very different than an adult taking care of an 8-year-old. It does sound like this season will be a hit or miss with most fans but it does look like they are pushing for quality that can come close to season 1.

I would say I'd be surprised by proper length, 2.5 - 3 hour episodes, but I think that with the lower workload now and being the final seaso

  • If we can last an entire season without any salt around the forums.

That is holding us at too high of expectation, Melton ?

Like, I'm starting to think that the new "Third-Person" aspect telltale is trying to implement into their games is a gimmick to familiarize themselves with games like Tlou and the new God of war. And they're trying to enter the ring with much larger game companies. I don't like how this is going to play out...

  • I admit that I am often a person causing salt and other conflict but it would be nice If this actually happened. If it did, I would tie ropes around my roof and swing around like Tarzan.

  • I’d be surprised if ma boi Kenny came back.

Salt is a key ingredient to all forums. Without it, comments just aren't as fun to read.

  • Fun comments are jokes, other users having a roast battle and memes, but when it’s making bad jokes about a bad game 2 years after its release makes it as stale as the 21 kid.

  • It’s not about jokes my dude. Watching two idiots have a heated argument about something pointless carries a good amount of enjoyment.

  • I would be surprised if no one came back other than Clem and AJ

  • Not much, honestly. After ANF and the Batman games, I'm kind of in an indifferent state. I hope it's good but other than that, I'm sort of on neutral ground and just waiting instead of expecting anything.
