  • I'm really surprised by the fact that only 100 people are working on this game. Doesn't Telltale have over 300 employees? Are the 200+ others really ALL working on future projects?

This combat system is pretty much exactly what I had asked for in feedback threads and I love it
    From Action Sequences

From The fights in The Final Season

Fight scenes from games that I'd like to see TFS take notes from:

    (Uncharted 4 spoilers)

You have me sold Telltale, great work

There were layoffs. Remember? As for the others, I'd imagine they'd be working on The Wolf Among Us.

  • Yes...But there were around 400 employees then. There still is a solid 300 people working at Telltale

  • Actually less than that. Some people have left on their own since then.

  • Thank you for this summary!
James Windeler was the lead writer of S3E3 and started working for Telltale around ~3 years ago. I do believe that Gary Whitta (writer of S1E4) is a story consultant for this season so I'm excited to see what influence he'll also have

  • I have no idea how many employees they have now but I know that they recently scaled down quite dramatically with the new CEO.

  • While I do like this change, it's still technically QTE in my eyes.

  • As far as I know, they're also producing a series based on Strangers Things, plus TWAUS

  • Marlon is the leader of The Boarding School.

  • edited June 2018

Today on Playstation Live we also learned from Kent Mudle (director of 1st ep of Michonne) that Marlon is the leader of the abandoned boarding school and he will be a very important character this season. He also confirmed that we will see "a familiar face or two" but cannot confirm who.

ETA does this mean that Kent Mudle will be directing one of the episodes of season 4?

  • Collectibles in the environment? What do they mean by that?

And the fact that they wouldn't comment on comic book characters isn't reassuring. I really don't want anymore comic tie ins.

  • Like this comment if you don’t want any comic tie-ins or comic characters in The Final Season.

  • Of course he is.

Marlon is the leader of The Boarding School.

HA, I can see what you're trying, you wanted me to give you a like for no reason! BUT I WON'T MISSY, I'll only touch the heart because I don't want comic characters but not because you deserve it.

  • I think he's the lead director for all of Season 4, while James is the lead writer for the whole season.

  • Remove yourself.

Experienced or whatever dude you get what i mean. I think she is natural leader and a mother too i guess...

  • Eh. Haven't really seen much suggesting that there's much of any degree to her.

  • The Playstation interviewers asked if the boarding school kids would look to Clem as a leader and Kent Mudle pretty much agreed

  • Because it seems like she just arrived at the community. Wouldn't be surprised to see her assume a leadership role by the end of the season though.

  • But since Marlon and Clem seem both like natural leaders, would that cause conflict? Similar to Lily and Kenny in season 1?

  • Aaand there it is.

  • I believe they had about 400 before the layoffs that got rid of 25%, so about 300 is a good estimate. And yeah, while a company may have more employees, it does not mean all of them are working on the same game, they're working on one of the other ones that are in the works, which is good since that means no one is on multiple games at once and trying to divvy up their time. And frankly, a team of about 100 still feels kind of big to me, and we've seen how big teams have impacted the quality of their games in the past.

  • I believe he's one of the creative leads on The Final Season, I believe the Season Directing Lead if I recall correctly, so he'll probably direct at least one episode this season, if not a couple. He was one of the heads for both seasons of Batman and he directed both season's premiere and final episodes. He might do the same here.

  • I try to stay optimistic but you know... A new frontier

  • Hey I'm just throwing it out there...A New Frontier is a lot better if you don't kill Conrad. Just sayin.

  • Eeeh...somewhat...?
Unfortunately, Conrad's part in the bigger picture was more or less over with Badger's death anyway, but even with the scenes he got afterwards, there were still a number of problems with the writing and direction of the more important stuff.

  • Yeah, but when that crust and flirting in a story with already limited running time and ultimately somewhat limited character focus, you can understand even the less petty consumer's frustration.

  • Also you gotta wonder. How easy is it for Clem to commit to something like that? She's watched so many couples fall apart. Seen heartbreak drive them to make the worst kinds of mistakes. Romantic bonds might seem like a bit of a fantasy to her. Maybe she has to learn how bonds like that can help drive a person through a crisis like this. But knowing how these games though, I can't not see a love story ending happily ever after for Clem.

  • If movies can do it in 2 hours. Telltale can do it in 8.

  • Sadly, yeah. But that’s why I say it would be hard to have an actual relationship. Plus, no one lives forever (especially in a ZA) so she can die at anytime and she knows it too. I wouldn’t blame her for being scared to get close to more people tbh

  • And the seasons have been putting those ideas up, but is that really the message we wanna go to sleep with? I mean, what's the point of a world where it's every man for himself who doesn't gain enough trust to truly create those bonds that are needed. Lee wouldnt want that for Clem. While AJ is that bond Clementine needs to hold her together, maybe there is room for others to share a different kind of bond.
