Little things that you want Clem to experience before her story ends?

edited June 2018 in The Walking Dead

Exactly what the title says. What are some activities that you'd enjoy seeing Clementine experience before the end of her story?

Here's some of mine:

  • Learning how to play a game of chess
  • Water gun fight with the other kids
  • Fishing
  • Riding either a kayak or canoe
  • Reading a children's book she found to AJ
  • Arm wrestling Violet

What are some of yours?

  • Well Clementine has already experienced fishing, seen in the recent trailer with AJ.

  • It's not canon, though.

  • I'll admit that I forgot they had fishing poles, I thought they just were resting on a bridge from what I recalled. But like @fangirl101 said it's not canon, I think it'd be nice to see her fish ingame

  • I want her to experience the end of the zombies, the outbreak ,the walkers what ever you want to call it,i want her to see hope is returning and the virus is starting to die off....but it won't happen as Kirkman wouldn't allow Telltale to write such a ending ;)

  • cocoa2736 when ya think about it, clem reading a children's book to aj is an amazing story technique. just think about the possible foreshadowing! Albeit blatant foreshadowing. it could maybe be used to show the story of the school group and the dreadful things that have happened to them, i think Ten would've written it. clem finds it on her desk in the bedroom in the night scene with aj (shown at e3), she reads it, and there is some sad and violent stuff written in the book, so you can choose to make up the story as you go along into a happier one (thus making aj feel optimistic about the school because nothing bad happened yet) or you can be truthful and read the whole thing, freaking aj out but he says if they've made it this far they should be fine. not a major choice, just an intersting thing

  • Just for Clem to be a kid again.

  • For me, I would want her to experience:
-fucking someone up in a fight
-getting fucked up in a fight
-getting bit by a zombie and then having the bitten area carved out
-killing more people, bad and/or good
I want her to be a cut-throat kind of person by the end of the TFS

  • getting bit by a zombie and then having the bitten area carved out

    Ow-how-how, FOCK!!

  • I need her to experience a battle of this magnitude

  • That sewing scene in S2 must have wet your appetite...

I think this would have a lot of impact if you consider that Clem only has a reading level of an 8 year old (about 3rd grade level in the US).

  • nah, clem's reading skills in terms of fluency would get better over time from reading stuff during her travels. but she wouldn't know complex words, though i doubt it would be written in the book called 'diary'

  • Seeing her drink with the new group could be cool

Reading a children's book she found to AJ

Well Clem only has a First grade education and is functionally illiterate at best. So it’s going to have to be a very simple book.

  • Visiting Silent Hill. ("I got a letter. The name on the envelope said Lee.")

  • Well, that's assuming she read anything during her travels. Except for the small down time she had at Wellington if you got that S2 ending, Clem's almost always been on the move either looking for someone or a safe place to reside. I really don't Clem has had time to read books. Like Luke said in S2, "You just spend so much time trying to stay alive... you don't get a chance to enjoy living." I think perfectly applies to Clem's experiences in the apocalypse.

  • I want Clem to experience love real love, and to go back and find Lee's body to bury it even after all the years. I want her to find javi's group and let them meet the boy she risked her life for. And like clemmy1 said see the end of all this, the virus dieing off and good people coming together building a new world, I want to see AJ ask about his parents and for Clem to tell him the story. Sad af this is going to be the final season.

  • the virus dieing off and good people coming together building a new world

But then a new disaster emerges from the shadows, sending the world spiraling down back into endless entropy, havoc, and death ???

  • That could make for a great scene though; Clementine struggling to read the book but still making the effort for AJ's sake. Would be a great way to subtly reinforce that Clem is still a broken child at heart trying to play grown up.

  • Actually the teaser is cannon and takes place slightly before the beginning of S4.

    • Learning how to play Poker

    • Dancing to music ( I don't think we've ever seen Clementine dance to music in the games, that would be amazing to see)

    • A cooking sidequest where Clem would have to scavenge the environments for the right ingredients

  • well said sir! That hit me harder than anything telltale has mustered tbh I'd probably cry if that were to happen. What a sad world

  • This is a bit more than little, but here I go anyways.

Provided that Clem is given some time to finally slow down at the abandoned school, I'd love to see her finally process the past 8 (?) years. I'd like to see a wide array from emotions, even if determinant:

    • Anger: we've never really seen Clem snap or go off. Everyone else around her has had moments where they lost it. Clem has been relatively cool throughout the series. The closest we ever got was the "You Monsters!" scream and the time she tackled David. We have yet to see Clem let her guard down and let the anger and pain spill out.
    • Happiness: I want to see a moment where the inner child of Clem comes out again. We got a small taste in S2 with the Christmas ornaments and in ANF with the card game. I'd love an entire scene where we can have Clem play a game, goof around with others, or just remissness and tell stories about the past with others at a familiar location like a classroom, library, or playground.
    • Sadness: I honestly think we've seen sad Clem a lot. However, we haven't seen her completely grieve. If we could determinantly grow close with a character, it would be nice to unload to flush out the built up heartache to someone (probably during the tail end of episode 3 or the front end of episode 4).

While I teased DaBigRG about it earlier, I would like to see Clem in a confrontation with another. I'm really interested in what options TTG will give us in that situation. Can Clem handle a physical confrontation? Can Clem show restraint? Does she still know the difference between attacking a walker from a human being or has she become completely numb to distinguish the difference? Is Clem more damaged that she let's us on to be? Would a physical confrontation break her?

I would also like to see Clem reference parental teachings to AJ from things she picked up from her parents, babysitter Sandra, Lee, Kenny, the Stranger, Christa, Rebecca/Alvin, Javier, etc. It would be another nice way to connect the past seasons to TFS.

  • ...Yeah. ...It would.

    • Building a tree house for AJ (might not be practical but I'd love for it to happen)

    • Telling AJ the story of his birth parents

    • Having to justify murder to him

    • On that note, having a scene that parallels Pete's story of Nick refusing to hunt by having AJ be hesitant to do the same thing

  • Having to justify murder to him

That would be great if it followed up a scene where Clementine smashes someone head in, with blood spalshing on AJ. He'd probably be scarred for life.

  • Having AJ wanting to do something Clementine may not be very comfortable/approving about and potentially having some conflict about it.

  • I want Clem to say what she'll do when she gets through the apocalypse. There is little to live for, so I'm intersted to see her plans for the good future.
