Serious Problem (maybe)

Long story short- bought the first and second season on the vita, got discontinued so I bought it on PC, graphics driver burned out, so I bought the collection for the PS4- anyway, just finished the first and second season for the third time, and was ready to continue onto the third; and it asked me if I wanted to import my 1st & 2nd season choices/saves. I said yes, but at the "start story" or "start over" screen, it had said somewhere along the lines that Clem had finally realized that being alone was best and raised AJ for herself- which was incorrect, unless I was misunderstanding it. At the end of season 2 I declined Wellington and left with Kenny. So, at that screen, it didn't allow me to back out, and it seemed incorrect, so I just closed the game so I could go back and go through that again. But no, it didn't allow me, it just asked if I wanted to start the game, not import another save or any of the other things it asked me before I started the season. I went through and encountered the first flashback, where it showed me alone instead of being with Kenny. Based on this, I'm going to assume that most other references to the previous games will be incorrect- but, here's the thing: I can't reset the game and start over. And, as far as I know, all three seasons' saves are binded together, based on the fact that under Settings on every season, there's the same save file for each; so if I were to delete that save, as far as I know, it'd delete all progress for season one and two. I'm most likely already not going to get the whole $49.99 I paid for this back if I return it, so any help would be tremendously appreciated.

  • I have similar problem with ANF on iOS: I have imported my save through the cloud, where I stayed with AJ in Wellington and the picture was just about it, but the first flashback was incorrect and capable of alone-ending of S2. So, I had to use a story generator, which is quite good. I advice you to do the same.

  • It's 7 or 8 questions that asks for very few of your major decisions, it's not even passable lol. TC, I'd contact customer support. In the meantime, as far as I know, deleting your save data in ANF shouldn't affect your save data on the previous games, you should just be asked to import them again upon choosing new game.

From the looks of it, you got two options here. In my personal opinion, I'd suggest that you use the story generator that S3 has. It was pretty much designed for situations like this.

To access the generator, use one of the other three available save slots. That should get the menu you are talking about to pop up again. Just fire up the story generator from there, answer it to the best of your ability, and you'll pretty much have your playthrough for the first two seasons. It factors in all the important stuff, like your S2 endings, so it'll be the closest you can get. It's a relatively short questionnaire that can be done in about 5 minutes. This will undoubtedly be the quickest way to fix your problem, but, it might not be 100% accurate. A few lines of dialogue here and there might be wrong, but other than that, you should have all the important stuff. If you're not in the mood to put up with waiting for a response from support and troubleshooting through different solutions, I'd just go for this option.

Alternatively, if you really want to keep your original save files, you'll want to check their support center. That handy link will take you right to it. If you don't see any answers to your problem on there, you can directly send a request to the support team, or email them at support@telltale.com. Just describe the problem as best you can, and they'll hopefully get back to you soon. This could take some time though, so if you just want to play the third season and skip all the hard stuff, I'd use the story generator. You'll get a new save that's at least 90% accurate to your original save file.

  • If to be honest, an ending option really makes sense in ANF. Other choices are minor.
