Top 10 The Walking Dead Choices

The Walking Dead is ending soon, and to prepare myself for the final season I've decided to play all games again (except for Michonne... that sucked). After I've completed A New Frontier, I thought about the main choices and which ones were the best in terms of impact, suspense and conseguences. Here's my top 10 favourite choices in the Walking Dead Series by Telltale.
SPOILER ALERT!
10) Shoot Conrad / Accept the deal
Let's face it: basically everyone in their first playthrough shot Conrad (the statics speak for themselves), I mean, no one would've betrayed Clem after 2 whole seasons with her. However, the more I think about this choice, the more I regret shooting Conrad since he's basically the ULTIMATE determinant character: no matter the countless possibilities in which he can die, the player can get an ending with him alive. So that's the reason why this choice, at least in my opinion, deserves a place in the list: is it worth to kill one of the most sympathetic and unique characters of the season to not sell Clem off or the contrary?
9)Save Ben/Sarah / Leave them for the walkers
This two characters can be a serious pain in the ass when we talk about their roles in the series: I mean, they're useless and their only purpose is to get more shit to the other characters. So is it right or to leave them behind for the walkers or not? I put them together because they share more or less the same ethical problem in the TWD universe, and they're low on the list because in the end, both characters ended up death anyway. What are the odds!
8) Abandoned Lilly / Let her back on the RV
Oh, boy, Lilly! Why did you have to kill Carley/Doug? Why did you make us decide whenever leave you behind for justice or have mercy for you? You truthly deserved some punishment, but is leaving you behind truly the right one?
7) Save Tripp / Save Ava
Can we all agree that this choice was pretty fucked up? I mean, at first they let you choose which one has to live, and then they kill the one you wanted to spare! And worse of all, it involves equally likeable characters, so it's not an unbalanced deal like the one with Conrad and Clem. But yeah, they both die no matter what....
6) Watch Kenny kill Carver / Walk with Sarita
Another adorable fucked up choice! Horray! Clearly there are some hated-by-everyone characters in the TWD series (Vernon, Carver, Joan, etc.) and it's pretty satysfying to see them getting what they deserve... or is it? I mean, I don't believe that anyone imagined how Kenny killed Carver and the main question is: was it worth it?
5) Save Carley / Save Doug
The first iconic Telltale choice, the first one everyone remembers, the one that make them think hard: who shall live? Despite being emblematic, in the end, both characters died in later episodes, but we get to choose who lived more so it's something, right? RIGHT?! (kinda...?)
4) Who came with you?
This single choice is the combination of several previous choices, which will determine who will come with you to rescue Clementine from Vernon. It's neat to have these characters with you depending on how you played the game, however the characters simply accompany you, nothing more. It's cool to have them, but still, there's another choice that took this concept and made it better
3) Have Clementine by your side or not
Some people might not agree, but a choice coming from A New Frontier is on the top 3. Why? Because this single choice have a huge impact on the ending of the game. Depending on the choices you made in Clem's flashbacks, our little girl can decide whenever be on Javi's side or have her own plan. And there's not just one plan, but 4 DIFFERENT ONES (go with Javi, go saving Gabe, go save Richmond or go in Javi opposite direction). In the end, depending on Clem's choice combined with the player's one (Save Richmond / Go after Gabe), there will be different endings: one where David dies, one where David and Gabe dies, one where David and Kate dies, one where Kate dies. So your previous choices will directly affect your ending, no matter your final choice.
2) Season 2 Ending: Kenny, Jane or on your own?
Yeah, obviously this choice would have been high on the list. And the reasons are several. Firstly, it's a seriously difficult choice, since it involves a character you started sympathizing with, Jane, and a character you knew from the very beginning, Kenny. Secondly, it will show drastically different endings to the season. Lastly, there's seriously no right answer for this choice: it can be said for other TWD choices, but this one in particular shows that sometimes there's not just the good or the bad option, but something more. And this choice surely had massive conseguences in the next seas-
ANF: - Did someone say conseguences of previous seasons? Oh too bad! Waluigi time! They both die a pathetic and unfair deaths! Toddles! - ^^
....MOTHERF-
1) Shoot Lee / Let him turn
This choice is possibly not the most "I'll have tons of conseguences in the game" one, but it's certainly the one that EVERYONE remembers as the most heart-breaking, the moment where you decide the fate of your main character, the character you followed from the very beginning of the story, the one you desperately wanted to keep alive, the one you believe could be untouchable, now sitting in a shop dying in front of her daughter-like figure, choosing if ending his life as a living being or as a walker... for better or worse, this choice made us cry, it made us feel emotional, it made us feel... ALIVE INSIDE.
I hope you enjoyed my list and be free to share your favourite choices of TWD and let's wait for the conclusion of this fantastic journey together!

I'm gonna list top 10 hardest choices IMO

    10 - Jane Or Kenny
    9- Doug or Carley
    8- shoot Conrad or not
7 - Steal from can/Arvo. Both equally as tough
6- Help Duck or Shawn, yes they both die and Shawn dies first no matter what but the idea of helping a kid you just met over a guy who basically saved your life and took you to his farm is still a tough choice if you don't include the consequences
5- Forgive Lilly or Leave her
    4 - Tripp Or Ava
3- Shoot Lee or Leave him
    2. Stay with Kenny or Go To Wellington
1 - Kill Larry or Help Lilly

  • It's funny. I've never played the game, but watched many playbacks. I think the main choice that shapes the game for me is helping or not helping Kenny kill Larry. You never know what you're going to do in real life, but I couldn't see myself dragging a daughter who's pleading with me to try to save her father because I was so afraid he would kill me if he died. Once I go with Lilly, this action changes the whole game for me because the relationship with Kenny changes. Because I don't back him up, he doesn't help with Danny which causes more resentment. Ultimately, this is remembered in season 2 when I have to choose between he and Jane, which becomes an easy choice.

  • 1.) Shoot Lee or Let Him Turn
You get to start the apocalypse with Lee and shape the kind of person he is going to be, because even if some of his choices were for naught in the end, they embody how he thinks and what he believes about this zombie takeover. So, seeing him go was hard enough, but to make this little girl who we protected all throughout season one have to carry out whatever you choose? Heartbreaking.

    2.)Help Kenny vs. Help Lilly
To us, people who grow up on zombie movies and stories and have theoretical plans for when the crap hits the fan, it's easy to say "Um, yeah, he's dead you obviously can't let him turn." But imagine really being in that situation and for the first time, you have to choose between trying to save a man's life (which could endanger everyone) or making a tough call and making sure he's really really dead.

3.)Stay With Your Daughters or Leave Them
Of course we know that, hey, this house is on fire we should definitely get going! But to Michonne, who has been plagued with guilt for so long and has hallucinations CONSTANTLY this is a huge turning point in her life. It's a very interesting and symbolic choice.

4.)Staying in Wellington or Staying with Kenny
Clementine is so young and she has grown up in such a horrible situation and I feel like either way this choice goes is a great indicator of what she has witnessed and learned in this world. Staying with Kenny is incredibly selfless and a big example of the belief that the people you care about are what is most important in this kind of situation. Staying in Wellington, although hard for Clem, shows that she has learned that survival is difficult but you've gotta do what you've gotta do to stay safe.

    5.)Save Doug or Carley
Honestly just having to choose between two people is not an easy choice to make.

6.)Kill the Dog or Leave it
An opportunity to mold Clementine, I think. Having mercy in a world gone to crap is important so I'm really glad telltale gave us these sort of choices that don't have a lot of impact on the plot but have more impact on the characters. Same goes for the girl in season one (outside by the drugstore) and the dying man who asks for water.

7.)Steal the Drugs or Put them Back
You'll be exiled regardless but it shows how much Clem is willing to do for AJ

8.) I Love You or Fight David
I really loved this option even if it was kinda cheesy and they made it even better when I saw (?) You kept your promise to your father. So this was just one of my favorites.

These aren't in any specific order and I was gonna try to do 10 but I honestly can't think of what other two I should do so there's that.
