Carver is Good Character..!!! REALLY
Carver wasn't bad character at all.If you blame him for killing Walter,it is for murdering his friend named "johnny" who killed by Kenny's shot.if you blame for killing Alvin because he loves Rebecca..Who wants to his love be with someone else even if possible to have a child with her. Another reason for like Carver,he has realistic, badass, smartass character. He just doesn't like lingering and weakness.

Give your grammar another once over, dude.
Sorry for bad english..
I disagree. Carver should've been Kenny. TellTale made that storyline for Kenny to be introduced into an antagonist role, potentially for Clementine to bring him back to what he was before, but they subbed him out last minute and put a character that nobody really knows anything about in the storyline instead. Season 2 would've been exponentially better if Kenny was Carver.
Subbing Kenny out last minute led to an underdeveloped Carver and a completely different Kenny that was pretty unlikeable rather than the fan favorite he was in Season 1.
Carver aka Bill aka William aka Will(i'm guessing his close friends and relatives called him Will) was basically a great value version of Negan
Nah, it's cool. Just tryin to help make sure your point gets across.
tnx for advice
Oooooooh I don't know about that??
He was set up very well in A House Divided. His introductory scenes in that episode were some of the most suspenseful in the entire series. Then the writers of In Harm's Way took his vileness way too far and made him too cartoonishly evil for my liking. Could've had potential if Telltale took the time to make him a more morally grey villain, but oh well ¯_(ツ)_/ ¯
Probably.
Given that writeup of what was allegedly the original plans for the Season, I'm not entirely sure how I'd feel about actually seeing it. It'd ultimately come down to how it's presented and how he's characterized with and without his evildoing.
Actually, from what I gather and/or can tell, the decision to make Carver an original character was made fairly early on once develop proper had started.
Kenny himself being in the Season as a separate character seems to still be a significantly later move.
Ironically, I'd be generous to go as far as to say having both in the story is what led to and/or ensured the former being such a one-note hyped up villain and the latter being an increasingly unlikable, nostalgia-powered Creator's Pet, making the story overall feel undercooked and wishy-washy.
Honestly, I'm not entirely sure he really was one.
I thought he was loosely based on the Governor?
He had a lot of Negan tendencies.
Eh, he would've still been relatively pastiche and brutish from the word go, if you ask me.
The real problem with him objectively is that they were setting up these complicated relationships with the Cabin Group and a settlement upholding linking back with him for the most part that ultimately failed to give enough backstory and social context to make their character arc's pay off, which also made him even more underwhelming.
I suppose.
I don't read the comics and still haven't read the show, but I wasn't aware Negan was even a thing back when Season 2 was being made.
I hate the fact they got rid of him in EP 3, the guy was suppossed to be a big deal and the villain of the season.
He made his debut in issue #100 3 months after the release of season 1.
With his first introduction I was anticipating a Thanos- like villain from him. Not exactly an aggressive asshat, more just an extremist whose motivations are somewhat sympathetic given the circumstances. Yeah he still would've been brutish but just a touch more complexity could've made him the best villain in the entire series.
That was also a problem too, I agree. Giving him more than just one episode to showcase his true character would've helped make him live up to the buildup surrounding him in the first two episodes imo
I hate the fact he only killed Alvin, Walter, and Reggie. Nobody and I mean NOBODY gave a huge fuck about Walter and Reggie. He should've done more damage to the group. Having Carlos bitch slap Sarah and beating the shit out of Kenny wasn't enough.
He should've had GRUELING and UNBEARABLE slave labor going on, the kind that forces you to collapse from exhaustion. He should've used them as entertainment. Making two people fight each other in rounds, where the winner gets a huge meal/lesser work hours and the loser goes to bed hungry and gets extra work hours would've made for a great scene.
The game did imply he also raped rebecca.. yeah, it would have been great if he and the howe's survivors were the ones to attack the group at the end of EP 4 killing sarah and nick if they were alive by that point.
Didn't she say her and Bill used to be pretty close back in the day??
That comparison sounds eerily fitting, if you know about his motivation in the comics.
Hm...maybe.
I don't know about quite those levels of that, but yeah, it seemed like he'd be encouraging something to that effect.
Except the entertainment thing. That's just weird.
I don't know about her and Carver specifically, but she was working as the PA announcer of Howe's.
And I also know that it's loosely implied that he & Alvin were tight enough that Alvin killing George in the escape was a sore point for him.
The whole fight thing is something Negan would do. I'm basically saying Carver should've been more like Negan before he died.
...Who tf is George???
Alvin and Carver's friend who Alvin inadvertently ended up killing when the Cabin Group and Nick's mom first escaped with Reggie's help.
Carver uses his name if Clementine asks for his to mess with Alvin & Rebecca and later brings him up when he grabs Alvin as a hostage as a reminder of what happened.
I feel like Kenny would've been a much better antagonist than Carver. At least we had a backstory of Kenny, we almost have no information about who Carver was and why he was so crazed.
My main issue with Season 2 was how underdeveloped Carver was. Kenny's character in Season 2 could've been saved if he was the antagonist rather than being an emotionally messed up dude with good intentions who fucks everything up.
I don't agree with you.He is one of the most helpful character. That's because Kenny lifts up Lee even if you didn't side with Kenny against Larry in Drugstore, Macon. He always been protective to Clem and teachs so much thing such as driving. He have losted Katja,Duck and Sarita,so he can acting no sensible sometimes but he deserves better
I imagine that they pussied out due to potential fan backlash. It would’ve been interesting to see S2’s original script as a whole.
You know what, I might as well take advantage of this thread to put it out there again: What exactly did so many people see in Carver back then?
I think Carver was an excellent villain and a high point of season 2. When people vote on their best episodes, season 2, episode 3 is always in the top five.
...Really?
He was a c*** to everyone how the fuck is he a good man in any way humanly possible?
He was a good survivalist like Jane. But he was not a good person, that's what makes Carver a bad guy.
Are you comparing Jane and Carver....
one is leader of a group with a large area
the other is just survivalist under the carver's influence
I know Lowes is pretty big on the inside, but I don't know if I'd call it a large area.
One would think that'd be the case. In a cohesive and interwoven plot.
He didn't kill Reggie over plants, that was just a cover up. He was doing the world a great service by pushing Reggie over the edge. NOBODY liked Reggie. Carver killing him was actually a good thing believe it or not.
She deserved it 800%. I mean, there Carver was, giving them a speech on how they can assimilate to their new lifestyle, with the chance of being welcomed like family. For whatever obnoxious reason, Sarah felt the need to start talking over him like some asshole, asking Clementine how well her experience with the state in which all consciousness is suspended during several hours of the night as a means of rest was

I wouldn't say she deserved to be slap but you're right about her being dumb enough to chat while he was giving out instructions, knowing what kind of person he is.
