Familiar foes for new woes?

Are you for or against Lilly or Christa being the new antagonists similar to how Kenny was once a pitched idea of being season two's antagonist?

  • Not gonna lie, I thought this about returning villains at first.

  • Same here. It wouldn’t really work, since well, they’re dead.

  • The vast majority of them, yes.

  • I'm all for it, but it can't be cheesy. If Lily or Christa were to be antagonists, it shouldn't be "good guy vs bad guy" but a scenario that would test Clem's maturity in handling adult conflict. And when I say adult conflict, I don't mean gunfire or warfare, but scenarios like the antagonist of Season 1's finale. An argument about a decision that breaks the status quo forever. A situation where you could clearly see that Lily or Christa are not wrong.

For instance: Christa finally has a child, but he/she's sick and needs medicine. Only one left. And it's something that can also save AJ. Christa, having miscarried previously due to unfortunate circumstances that unfortunately involved Clem, you could clearly see she's not wrong. An impossible situation where a mother and guardian are trying to keep their child alive. You refuse to hand it over, a death battle ensues. It's a scenario with no right answer, but every result feels wrong, misguided and dark.

  • Oh yeah, to answer the actual question, no to both of them.

I want to say that it could be more intriguing than new villains. New villians and just pulling new characters in general out the ass are always risky by never knowing if they're gonna work for you or not. I never liked the New Frontier villains aside from Max (only because he reminded me of Popeye the sailor man).. and I never liked Carver as a villain. Michonne had decent ones and I could see Nate as one but I just wished the idea of Kenny having went done a more destructive path had been explored which it kind of did with the group accusing him of being insane and wanting to leave but fell flat. But something like the Stranger if he'd been left unknown maybe him returning as a new threat would be interesting or having someone that was once an ally turn for the worst apropo Christa or Lilly.

    Eeeh, sometimes? Depends really.

    Popeye?

Yeah, I liked him too and Joan as well--at least in her introduction episode.

.. and I never liked Carver as a villain.

    Same.
