It's less of a mess and therefore less likely to get clung onto ala Chuck's analogy.
I'm guessing it's to make him resemble both Alvin and Rebecca again.
they can also naturally CUT IT.
You're missing the whole point here. Do you think I have afro-phobia or something?
it's a fucking plot point in season 1 that hair like that is dangerous in a zombie apocalypse.
"keep that hair short"
"ill cut it myself"
"lolnope"
It's really stupid, I dunno who they're tryin to appeal to, are afros really coming back in style?
I mean... Some people can just naturally grow an afro so it's not exactly out of the ordinary.
I agree, it's like saying that's not really AJ but Alvin with Benjamin Buttons disease. OOOOOOOH some new lore! I've seen some suggest Marlo… moren will be the Kenny of this season. As much as I look forward to seeing Marlon's development, claims like those make me cringe.
It's far more likely we'll see more notable characters from previous seasons, if any are slated to return. Trying to re-introduce someone as minor as Nate now, is more of a stretch than those that argue against Lilly's return.
Considering how Nate was, it makes me question the characteristics of his diehard fans. Why would we want a murdering Rapey-Davey vibe character to return?
lol Carefull. Clementine race topics haven't gone well in these parts (though it hasn't been as hostile in resent times, so I guess it's ok to talk about now).
If I remember correctly, one of the guys on S1 based Clem off of his daughter who was Asian. After Clem was designed, they then changed her race from white to black to emphasize the surrogate father-daughter relationship between her and Lee. They then made Clem's parents and thus the end result: a lightskin Black American girl with debatable Asian facial features (I say debatable because I still don't see the Asian in Clem that others have seen)
My head-canon for explaining Clem's fairness in skin tone while being black is that her mom was either mixed with black and Hispanic or black, white, and native American. I prefer the later because it exactly resembles my parents, and it's kind of fun to play Clem as this alternate universe me if I was born a girl and a year or two later. Kind of weird, but it's my way of connecting with the character.
And it's because of what I typed above that I'm kind of a tiny bit glad Clem's race is kind of ambiguous. You can almost justify her race being multiple things. Thus, her character can connect to players in more ways than one. But that's just me... And I ended up type way more than I intended to... So, The End.

At least he actually looks like a black person. Clementine looked asian as hell

Because true fans have felt that we need Clementine to have a rape scene ever since Season 1 ended?

Why exactly you need to respond to me three times, I have no idea, nor why you seem to have taken my comment so personally that you need to resort to insults and getting all upset.
Anyway, I suggest you chill out a bit. I was only explaining why I think there's a possibility that it is Nate, not stating that it is 100% him. The design of the character, to me, is very similar and hey, being a Nate fan, maybe I am a bit blindly hopeful of that possibility. The change of eye colour is the strongest argument against it being Nate and I'm not going to pretend I know how the hell he'd replace it with a fake one, but at the same time, the Walking Dead is a fictional series of video games meaning the realms of possibility, while unlikely in real life, are endless. It probably isn't Nate, but it's still a possibility, and if by hoping that it is makes me the "dumbest person" on these forums, so be it. I can live with that.

I think the guy at the end of the trailer is supposed to be Nate tbh. Its the last shot that we see. They made him look just ambigous enough that we'd go crazy speculating over who it was but there was a reason for putting him in there at that moment. To illicit a reaction from those who understand. You save the shocks for the end of trailers. Like Clem saying "what do you do if i got bit" it shocked us. Thats what trailers do. So that person at the end if someoje we know in my eyes. It's Nate.
Don't say that to muh Marlon. He's a good kid, he won't go corrupt, will he? The ladies said he's their favourite character in one of the early interviews in april I think, back then I didn't know Jack about him other than his looks but now I can kind of see why. Ergo, I agree that these theories are horrible and they don't make sense to me. I'm also looking forward to seeing his development.

Are they really theories so much as just reads and/or comparisons with what's familiar?
He was described as being the Jerk with a Heart of Gold archetype upon introduction and has been inferred as some to be the leader of the Boarding School Group. It's kind of an obvious connection to be made.
His resemblance to Tripp and increasingly David doesn't help.

Great teaser overall, and I very much appreciate the fact that, unlike ANF's trailers, it has little to no action, which is a blessing. Once… more again, the focus is on the characters it seems.
My only problem is that Clem is bandaged and bleeding around her head. Whoever did that will be suffer a slow and painful death, and I will enjoy every single second of it.

you're arguing semantics over curly hair
I'm just saying, it's not actually unprecedented. They had those designs down and then suddenly somebody decided they didn't look right.

Jesus, people.
It was the hats, at least in-game wise.
Concept art is a tad unclear/off.
Did anyone see the 15 pre-release gameplay?
I liked the uncomfortable vibe he gives off. I liked seeing how Russel responded to his weird, rapey persona

Oh, well they don't really need the game to do that, now do they?
But the "possibility" is reallyLOW. And I didn't mean to offend, it's just when I see something I think is REALLY stupid, I lose it.
I wouldn't know ?♂️
It took me 40 seconds to adore these kids.

Odd, considering her design was based off of Derek Sakai's daughter, art director at TT I believe who worked on S1.

I don't really see the familiarity between the two. Although it may just be my bias, as Marlon might be agitated easily like Kenny too.

Yeah, I can kind of see it now. He's more like Tripp than David though.
I'd be worried regardless.
what is this, concept art for ants?
Okay, yeah, I was too lazy to copy in a bigger version. Just plug it into Google and/or open in a new tab and it should be bigger.
I think the bandage is from the car crash she has at the beginning of the game.
I think he knows now as he regularly checks in and gets involved in community discussions
