  • Money holds more value when you start working for it. You're not losing much by waiting in this case, I absolutely agree any one disappointed with the last outing definitely should until they get a clearer picture of how this is being handled and have more confidence in the purchase. I've got more than enough to get it now. I've also got a sizeable list of games I'll be buying when the big names start dropping in Q4, and a decent backlog. I see no reason to spend money now only to find out it was a waste later when I can easily spend it later if I find out it's not, it's got little to do with being too broke, as he put it in another thread, to afford the preorder.

  • Ok watching the first 15 minutes again....I think it is sorta sad that in those 15 minutes they had combat that made ANF look shameful in comparison.

  • Exactly. Why that user seems to correspond basic logic with being broke is beyond me. If he wants to preorder, that's his choice, but to try and dismiss the very legit reasons others are not, is just condescending and immature. I want the new game to be good as much as anyone else, but it's waaayy too soon, in my view, to be paying for it after Telltale's recent track record when you can simply buy it later if the game turns out to be good.

Cause in the case of that first one, it looked almost as weird as it usually does.

  • Back in the day we did not have graphics...we had our imaginations. Text adventures was all we needed...then someone had to add 8-bit graphics...I tell you, to this day there are some who are not used to the sensory overload! And FULL Motion Video claptrap...gives me nose bleeds I tell you! I remember when 30 FPS was too much....Wing Commander in the old days was perfectly fine without smooth frame rates...I mean we are playing games for god's sake not playing real life. Now I have this damn machine that runs GTA V at Ultra settings 120+ FPS....For what I ask? I think it would have been better as a text adventure!!!

  • A. This is an extremely stupid argument, why is it happening XD
    B. DAMN this forum is so full of toxic negativity. "Telltales recent track record" ahem uh we just forgetilting that the last three Telltale games have been enjoyed by the majority of people that picked them up, and that telltale just finished arguably their best series of all time? Hell in fact, everyone I've talked to about ANF outside of social media enjoyed that one too. Just...stop y'all

If you want to know why this argument started (which is pretty much over now, anyway), you can simply read over the replies and see. It isn't all that difficult, to be honest.

I can't judge Telltale's last three games, as I have not played them, and if they were good, great. I was merely referring to, as made clear in my post, A New Frontier. Now whether you liked that game or not isn't of relevance, but it is apparent that it was a downgrade from the previous instalments in the series. I'm not being negative for the sake of being negative. I do have hopes for the new game, but I'm also not going to be overly optimistic either until I see more reasons to be.

  • I'm sure you meant the majority of Telltale supporters. I, in no way, enjoyed vigilante Joker or super villain Vicky Vale. It was a stain on Batman, so please don't confuse discontent with "why don't you love it instead of being TOXIC OHEMGEE"

You can blame that kid who's insulting anyone who doesn't preorder for this argument, as far as the series goes, everyone I've talked to outside of social media never made it past the first two episodes of the shit show that was ANF, I literally had to tell them what happened. My circle of friends doesn't consist of young teens, so that might explain that. These games are rated at people 17+, it seems you're the person they need to stop appealing to and take a more mature approach.

  • First off ...they have these things you may have heard of called DvDs...also there is this invention called the internet...allows for digital downloads. I know quite a bit about Batman. But that is beside the point as these games are known to be Telltale's spin...and Elseworlds story if you will. But please continue to be butthurt over how your Batman history has been defiled by this.

You brought your fan club. The one with the Alicia Silverstone doesn't count(she was Batgirl in the 90s Batman and Robin), and that's still way before your time. Excuse me sir, it is in fact a federal offense to prefer 30 fps over 60. Filthy console peasant.

jk man I respect your opinion. I personally like 30 fps much more than 60 in movies and cutscenes. Same with HDR and 4k, I just find it distracting. I get where you're coming from.

    Edit: My username checks out

I'm torn, but I think I prefer 30fps except in fighting games. Which I would like to see Clem a part of.

  • The fuck is this? And pretty much all of Telltale's games are goofier and dare I say sometimes cheesy. When have we had an honest mature game? Like wut you might aswell complain about how twd telltale is a stain on the comics and show, because tones, themes, scenery and characterisation are fucking different, you should know this stuff, they've been doing it this way for over a decade now. Go watch a batman movie now with a basic ass storyline.

LOL, technically their last game was Batman The Enemy Within which ironically, they're also working on this one! So your opinion already lost validity right there from that alone. What you consider valid points are to me, excuses based on OPINION, not fact. Both of your arguments are mere conjecture.

Please get your logical fallacies sorted before spewing anymore crap my way. How does any one ever know how a game is going to turn out? It's always a roll of the dice, kid, but that doesn't stop people from pre-ordering does it? We're not psychics that know that it's going to be good, we just know we want to play it. Otherwise why even bother with having people pre-order anymore since sooooooo many people like yourself decide to wait it out, right? Nope, don't see pre-ordering becoming a thing of the past just because some people want to spew nonsense about how they didn't get to see what they wanted first. We know you're just really waiting for that price drop, no shame in it just don't give others crap for having the testicular fortitude to pull the trigger before you.

I have high hopes for Telltale ever since they acquired a new CEO and made a killing with the latest Batman, but it's guys like @OneWayNoWay that's determined to be that rude customer every company ends up resenting because they're never pleased and want you to bend over backwards to keep them. • You seem a little butthurt? If you seriously react this immaturely and pathetic when someone, on an internet forum of all things, disagrees with an ignorant post you made, you should consider some therapy. I truly mean that. I can think it'll help a lot.

Pre-ordering, in my own humble opinion (a thing you seem to be struggling to grasp since you've taken it as an attack on your character), is a ridiculous concept anyway. It encourages naive individuals, such as yourself, to throw money at video game companies for something in which you have no real idea is good. All that encourages is more shitshows and disappointments like A New Frontier because the industry knows there's always some eejit who'll waste his own money on crap games, simply so he could get some bonuses or other pointless shit. But hey, that's just my opinion. You mightn't like it and it might upset you (for god knows what reasons), but it is what it is.

If you wish to base how good Telltale's latest game will be on Batman, fine. That's your business, as is how you spend your money, so preorder as many games as you want. I don't care. Me, personally, though, I'd prefer to spend my own money on something I'm guaranteed to enjoy. The last entry in the Walking Dead series was complete horse shit, in my view, so I'm sure as shit not that confident (yet) in Telltale to deliver to the standard of the first game. That's not to say I don't want the new game to be good, I do, but I also like to be a little sensible when it comes to these things. You don't. Everyone gets that now.
